Lucia had me pay upfront for alterations to my wedding dress and made an appointment for me to come pick up the finished dress. When I showed up to my appointment, it became very clear that she had forgotten about my dress. Instead of apologizing and providing an updated timeline on the work, she became aggressive and verbally abusive. She yelled at me, made me cry, insulted my character, said I'd never be happy with my dress, all because I made the comment that I wish she had let me know that the dress wouldn't be finished by the pickup date. My only option was to take my dress elsewhere and to ask for a refund for any unfinished work. I did not get a chance to try the dress on because Lucia was screaming at me and making me feel incredibly unsafe in her store. It was very bizarre and unhinged behavior.
I was issued a partial refund, but she charged me nearly $200 for the fitting and for 'hemming' the dress. In reality, she did not actually do the work she had claimed - the bottom of my dress was choppily cut off and was cut too short for my measurements, with chalk marks still visible. She did not hem any other layers, and not only was the work not worth what she charged me, but it cost me more to get these mistakes reversed than it would have to have gotten the dress hemmed properly in the first place.
Lucia's reviews are artificially inflated by reviews from people who have never interacted with her, because of her appearance on Love is Blind, where she hemmed a man's pants. A huge number of these 5 star reviews are fake (you can tell because they all reference Brett or Netflix or Love is Blind - another review tried to refute this, but its painfully obviously that people who dont even live near here made fake 5 star reviews because Brett plugged Lucias Google reviews on his Instagram). Speaking as a real customer, I cannot recommend against this business enough - Lucia nearly ruined my wedding dress and traumatized me in the process. She cost me hundreds of dollars in repairs to the dress, and I will forever be scarred by the horrific way in which she treated me. There are several other reviews that also indicate volatile and unfair business practices by Lucia - please research her more before going to her.
I would also like to mention that her register will prompt you to tip her a % of your cost. I tipped her 15%, and this is how she treated me. I would encourage you to research tipping for seamstress-owned businesses if you still choose to go to Lucia, which I highly recommend against (and just FYI - it's not customary to tip in this type of situation, so it's a bit misleading that she prompts for the tip).

Lucia altered both my wedding dress and rehearsal dress. Both were several sizes too large and needed a rush. I lost weight so the corset on my wedding dress needed to be taken in roughly 4 inches. It was a complex thing and she did an amazing job and it didn't break the bank.
On my rehearsal dress - a Reformation dress size 14, she brought it down to a size 12 but leaving extra room in hips. She altered the chest area...it was all perfect and it was a silk dress!!
She is truly one of a kind. A lovely personality and affordable prices as well.

Every business is going to have some negative reviews on occasion and it is always hard to hear the two sides of the story. A recent comment says that reviews are inflated because of her appearance on a TV show- which is very FALSE. Families that have lives in the valley have recommended her business for years for a reason. My experiences with her have always been extremely good and she does excellent work. She has done dress alterations for me and friends and we have always been extremely satisfied. In fact, I will be going back this week to request another fitting!
