While reviews have their benefits it is frustrating when misinformation is deliberately posted. We saw your pet on a walk-in basis, with no appointment. I don't know of any other practice that would extend that courtesy without an emergency fee. The exam revealed severe periodontal disease which has been manifesting for years. The tumble your pet took down the stairs jarred several teeth loose, and we placed him on our surgery schedule to be squeezed in at the next very possible appointment. The bloodwork run today shows he is also exhibiting renal compromise and the procedure would put him at risk if performed today as you demanded. A heartworm test is essential to catch occult infections before anesthesia, and no heartworm prescription has been forced upon you. Your request to have me pull his teeth without anesthesia would in fact be irresponsible and cruel. A limited oral exam was performed because as you warned he was attempting to bite us. Understand, periodontal disease does not happen overnight. We have no records of your 10 year old pet seeing a doctor until this point, but sadly this all could have been avoided w/ regular exams. I've reviewed the estimate w/ you and even agreed to not require at DHLPP vaccine, but bordetella is for his protection and all of my other patients' safety. We all work our hardest at the clinic for the best interest of our clients and patients. We understand it is difficult to see them unwell, but we hope you see we are always trying to help.

image Caring, professional, pet care. My cat had to be hospitalized overnight and the doctors made sure I understood every aspect of their concerns and the care they recommended.

image Ive brought my dog and 2 guinea pigs to Occoquan. No matter which pet they had they were very through and caring. I have always felt they truly care about the health of my fur babies. They have been essential in my pets care

image I have been going to Occoquan Animal Hospital for about ten years. I used to come in for Dr Morse who is honestly one of the best vets I have ever known and he was willing to treat some of my unusual animals. His wife was also an incredible vet. As I understand it, they sold the practice and it is under new ownership. I do think they might be a tad more expensive than they used to be but in all fairness everything is more expensive as of late. I recently came in with a sick elderly foster cat and we saw Dr Farge and I was so impressed with her. I have worked with animals ( wildlife, exotics and domestics) for 30 plus years. I am also a former Petsmart manager who dealt with Banfield Vet (whom I am NOT a fan of) on a daily basis due to them being in Petsmart. The office staff is very nice and accommodating, the rooms are clean, the vet techs I have encountered were also great, I really have no complaints about anything there and Im pretty picky. Everyone is always talking about cheap vets And I dont think there is such a thing, you get what you pay for. I have a quote I like to use and that is no vets, no pets. If you are not willing to get your pet the needed veterinary care, than you should not get a pet to begin with. I have only seen Dr Farge under the new ownership but I would recommend her to my family and friends. You can not go wrong here bringing your pet to this animal hospital
