Dr. Amir offered exactly one option for treatment when I met him. When I found I couldn’t tolerate the side effects from that option I requested an alternative. He treated me like a drug seeker and repeatedly stated he was not going to give me a ton of a particular stimulant medication that’s a common treatment for my condition. Ironically, I had requested to not use that medication as it didn’t work well for me in the past. When I pushed for exploring some of the other options, he said I needed to go to a specialty clinic. I thought I was already at one since it was a sleep disorders clinic and my disorder is listed as one he treats, but it seems he has no clue how to treat idiopathic hypersomnia and he wasn’t willing to try. His overall demeanor was pleasant the first time I saw him when I willingly agreed to his option, but he quickly turned ugly and unprofessional as soon as things didn’t go exactly the way he wanted.

Dr. Amir was very helpful with my sleep problems. He took time in explaining to me what was going on. He made sure that I understood what needed to be done in order to make the right diagnosis. He then helped me see what my test was all about and made sure I understood what I needed to do to help myself get better sleep! His staff is always very available and understanding. They are courteous and friendly. Wait time in his office is very quick. They are very professional and I am recommending my family go and see him as well. Definitely better than large groups who just push you from room to room and make you wait for hours.

My daughter has contacted this office multiple times to get copy of her sleep study so she can get her sleep machine and is promised each time that she will be called back and never has been. For over a month she has gotten no help. She contacted the. Company who provides the machine and they have tried 4 times to get a copy of her report for insurance purposes and they have not called them back as well. His assistant does not answer the phone nor return calls..stay clear

Missing paperwork delayed two appointments. Terrible receptionist (one of them) who’d rather talk about herself and her own health issues. Doctor is arrogant and obnoxious and uses instant messaging during appointment. Calls placed on private phone, not office phone. Long delays for appointments. Absolutely, 100% a trainwreck.
