Potomac Overlook Regional Park

This park is a fine example of suburban encroachment and overuse. Directly in the flight path for Ronald Reagan Washington Airport, it is one of the noisiest parks I have ever visited. Undergrowth has been replaced by multiflora rose, English Ivy, garlic mustard and other invasive species.
On the bright side, we saw no poison ivy and there was evidence of recent upgrades to the official trails.
A bald eagle zipped overhead as we were leaving. But I would not say this is a prime place for observing them.

Great little playground next to a path toward the nature center. We didn't go inside, but there's plenty to explore outside.
Free parking spaces and bathrooms available at the pavilion.

Can't wait to check this out on my next visit to DC. Lived & visited here off & on since 1980, never even knew this refreshing park was here
