image Decent hotel, but NOT at all worth the price!! The room was nice, and the breakfast was fairly good. Instead of earning tips, they automatically add the tips to the bill, whether you like it or not, and whether the service was good or not!! This should be a THREE star hotel, not five!! I won't stay here again, because it's not worth it! Based on price, I can NOT recommend the Primland Resort. Can you say OVERPRICED??

image This resort is not all that when you get placed in a room next to barking dog for three days. Honestly, if I lived closer I would have just driven home.

image My now husband and I came here on our road trip honeymoon. We first stopped at a similar luxury mountain resort in TN, then came to Primland. In short, we were in agreement that this resort was not worth the price, despite being much more affordable than the previous resort. We found this to be the case for mainly 2 reasons- staff seemed very unapproachable and more eager to clean up after us than to help us or ask us how we were doing and 2, distance away from off property stuff. In essence, the culture at this resort was just disheartening. In my husbands words, I felt like I was in trouble the whole time or like I wasnt allowed to be in places that I knew I was allowed. I felt that my biggest qualms were two fold- 1, limited room service menus, 2. the spa. To put it politely, the stench of body odor distracted me from relaxing and enjoying my massage. Lastly, the property just takes so long to drive through- 11 or something miles from gate to gate. For better reference, I think it took us 25-30 some odd minutes to drive from gate to resort. Luckily, we used this to our advantage and ended up marathon training lol. But anyways, would I come back here? No, UNLESS specifically for marathon training or if I somehow became a serious golfer.

image We booked a cottage here for our anniversary and drove 5 hours to a resort that didnt live up to our expectations nor the expectations they describe online / website. A few things that are unacceptable: the staff was unfriendly/ unhelpful. They said they had one electric bike and it was not working so we rented regular bikes that werent maintenanced. No one could give us any information about the trails, and when we arrived to the trailhead they were very advanced Mnt. Bike trails. Spa area is very disappointing. For a 5-star hotel there is one tiny dry sauna in the mens locker room only, a steam bath which is dated and smells of mold, a hot tub with titles broken/ missing. Theres no room for lounge chairs at the pool area. A very small relaxing area, with only 5 chairs. The spa staff was not readily available. Both times we arrived there was no one at the desk. The card reader didnt work so we couldnt get into the pool. The spa receptionist was rude and not helpful. They didnt greet us even after we waited several minutes for them to come back to the desk, she reeked of cigarette smoke . If you are going to charge 20% gratuity onto a bill for service, it better be worth it! At the stables saloon we waited 45 mins for our food to arrive. The waitress came to our table once within the 45mins. Our reservation was at 7pm and we didnt get out food until 7:45pm, they close at 8! So much for all- you - can - eat when you have 15 mins before they close. They proclaimed to have southern desserts but they gave us what looked like a little Debbies oatmeal cookie and a red velvet cupcake for dessert. The menu said Peach pie and other southern desserts. At breakfast, we were not greeted the waitress saw us come in and said Ill seat you in a minute but she stood with a pitcher of water talking to another table for the next 10 minutes until we finally seated ourselves. My bacon was burned to a crisp, it was black and cold. We had yogurt, aci bowl, waffles, avocado toast, coffee for $125. $8 for a croissant! No bread selection, no jam or honey selection.. The only thing good I can say about this resort is the landscape is beautiful, and the rooms were quite nice. We would definitely NOT come back here again even if we lived 10 minutes away.
Rooms: Clean . Great view ! Quiet. They could supply us with a spa bag for our things, since its a little bit of a hike from the cottages to the lodge
Food & drinks: Nothing special. Arent forthcoming with any information on the menu. Theres no coffee or specialty drink menu. You have to ask what they have. Information on the beverages is not readily available. Apparently they have a lot of coffee selections but its not listed on the menu.
Noteworthy details: 20 % gratuity added to the bill for terrible service

image We had a major tick infestation in our room. We woke up to ticks crawling on us.
There are only six entrees to choose from for lunch and dinner.
There is only canned water offered at the resort. There are no glasses in the room. So we had to drink room temperature canned water.
Room service forgot items each time we ordered. So for breakfast this morning we had food but no drinks at all.
The items on the menu were not served as described. On the steak dinner with potatoes and asparagus. We only received a steak (which was supposed to be a strip steak but wasnt) served with only a few fingerling potatoes. An incomplete meal.
The dining staff was very rude. When asked if we could sit outside near the other patrons, she said the last table was as too far away. When we moved inside she asked us to make up our mind and sit either in or out.
We ran out of hot water after a 10 minute shower.
Room smelled awful and waited 45 minutes for new room.
Grounds are pretty. Cottage is nice but its a walk to the lodge for meals.
Activits listed did not exist.
