This is the second time staying here, and the first was nice. This time was a big difference! First the refrigerator in the room did not work, so i called down to the front desk and they brought another, which didn't work either. Luckily i was able to tinker with it a bit and get it working. Then the ice machine didn't work, then the toilet ran all night. In the morning i discovered that the continental breakfast had been replaced by a "bistro" which consisted of microwaved burritos and bizarrely packaged yogurt. The "starbucks coffee" turned out to be like sex in a canoe. Look that one up. All in all not a good experience.

Went to check out and the guy at desk checked wrong room out. Cleared that up and left. Was checking bank account later that night and noticed a 250 dollar fee and 260 dollar fee. Thought we had been charged twice so we called to clear it up. After talking with a lady that said she was new and couldn't really help us out we finally found out we were being charged a 250 charge for smoking. First thing is neither me or my fiance smoke and never have. I could possibly understand them trying to pull something like this on smokers that had clothes or something that possibly smelled of smoke but isn't the case here. Jody the "manager" wasnt to willing to hear much about it. We got in from a fundraiser across the street at about midnight and literally only slept a few hours in the room. Fortunately we are actually from the area and will be spreading the word about the unwarranted charges we've had to pay. My advice would be if you have to stay here make sure you do a walk down with the staff before you check out because if they want they can and will charge you for something you didn't do.

Although I travel frequently, I rarely write reviews on hotels. However, I feel like I should warn those who are looking into this hotel that they should be aware of some 'money-grabbing' tendencies at this location. I'm a very frequent Marriott customer - practically every week (titanium elite for three years) - and I can't say I've seen a hotel so satisfied with not helping me resolve a misunderstanding.
This review is more towards the management than it is towards the actual room quality, which I would still rate as a 3-star, as I've stayed here three times before, so if you're determined to stay here - eh, it will probably be OK. Whatever.
I had quite a few Marriott points built up that I was excited to use in Waco since my wife and I are Baylor alumni. I had booked this hotel for that Saturday with points to ensure we had an awesome experience and I could finally cash in my points that I’d been saving for months. When I arrived at the front desk, I discovered that the room had been inadvertently been booked for two days prior to the visit. Retracing my steps to find out how this could happen, I found that the Marriott site had reset the dates to the night I booked the hotel, instead of the night I needed it. This is a pretty clear-cut case of an accident leading to a misunderstanding.
Both the assistant manager and general manager both commented that the room was not refundable for that date since the hotel was sold out the night that I had “booked”. Therefore, no refunds.
Hang on – you’re telling me that the hotel made the maximum amount of money possible from that night, and you can’t refund a single room? Yes, and by the way, you’ll have to pay to stay here tonight as well, even though we are not full. We aren’t giving you a room. Get out (paraphrasing from my perspective).
By the way - I would have understood if the hotel was full for the night I intended to stay, but they weren't full. So they could have kept the points AND given us a room for the night and been unaffected, making the same amount of money.
So, thanks to Waco Courtyard by Marriott for taking all of my points, then trying to get me to pay them more money for another night. If they had understood the simple mistake and at least refunded the points like decent, understanding individuals, I wouldn’t have had to stay near Belton that night. Enjoy your money, Jody. You’ve certainly grabbed it.

Worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed at. Must request to have your room cleaned due to “covid protocols”, which is not written anywhere. Bistro is still closed in the summer of 2021 due to “covid”. Front desk associates are trash as well. Will not maintain my elite status with this brand any longer.

Booked a room for 4 people thru hotwire. They put us in a room with 1 King bed. When we went back to reception they moved us to another king room with a chair that pulled out into a single bed. That was their only solution. Still didn't sleep 4 people. Also I discovered they charge a $20 resort fee that was not disclosed before we book or mentioned at check-in. Room was ok but these things made it a very unpleasant experience.
