They discriminated and refused to help us due to my mother not speaking english.
I went a couple days ago with my mother, 2 of my nieces had appointments and once we got there we were told the appointments would not be today. It was going to be more filling out paperwork. We were confused because the email said the girls needed to be there. We took them out of school for basically no reason. She had made a comment of how theres a lot of us which was 5 of us because I have a baby but I brushed that comment off.
After we were put in the room the lady said was not being direct and was confusing me on why the girls would not get the service they usually give because my mom does not speak English. I offered solutions like she can call me or I can come physically to translate or they can call someone. She said no.
My mom called the lady who scheduled the appointment and the lady got my moms phone and took it to go talk to the supervisor. We knocked at the supervisors office since they had my moms phone and we wanted to be present with the conversation.
The supervisor was even worst. She also said the language barrier was an issue.
It was humiliating and discriminating. We were sent to this location and for them to try to confuse me on the reason the girls wouldnt get the same treatment as someone that would speak English is unfair. People who are in it only for the money shows. They still profited on the two appointments that the email said was scheduled when in reality it did not happen. Why didnt they call us before to say the girls did not have to be present for this day. There were no other people at that time.
We found out that they have helped other families that only speak Spanish. I am writing my experience so other people can be aware and speak up against discrimination and racism. When we got up to leave I heard the door that divides the waiting room and office on our way out got slammed so loud. Very very rude.
