I had hired Nicole Carroll to represent me in my divorce. She failed to represent my interests and deferred to opposing counsel on key items. For example, she tried to pressure me into agreeing to pay spousal support and continue to provide my soon to be ex with a credit card with a 25k limit that I would be responsible for. We basically fired each other and I was able to complete the divorce to my satisfaction on my own.
Edit: In response to the firm's response below, the example I cited was done over email of which I have copies. There is no other interpretation of those emails as I was explicitly told to provide my ex with a free credit card while also providing spousal support despite my protests. When taken together with derogatory generalizations that Ms. Carroll made about her other male clients this may suggest a bias against men. I would happily waive attorney-client privilege so that the firm can post a copy of all emails for others to determine what happened on their own. We can also share the emails about the disastrous performance of Ms. Carroll at mediation. Sunshine is sometimes the best disinfectant. I have nothing to gain from this review. Like I said, I was happy with the final outcome that I achieved on my own. To the firm, feel free to have the last word. I have spent all the time I care to spend on this.
