Clean hotel. Staff helpful on site. Our door wouldnt latch and staff helped us out very quickly. Ive stayed at this hotel a few times and have never been charged for having my small dog until the most recent stay. I was not notified at check-in that they charged, nor was there a sign posted. Please be ware there is a $75 fee for bringing your dog and they were not up front with me about this charge. (Most Aloft hotels do not charge for dogs).

My stay went pretty good. The location is perfect. I love this area so much. Its away from the hustle and bustle of the city but attractions are easy to get to. The venue itself is beautiful, clean and well kept. My room was perfect for me and my daughter. Just enough space, nice view of the pool area which was for sure a plus. The aesthetics of the hotel are excellent.
I do have a few complaints which took away from my experience. I typically prepay for my rooms, mostly for peace of mind. This stay was no exception. I didnt receive a receipt upon booking and pre-paying. I called the Aloft corporate number to receive a receipt, they instructed me to call the actual hotel. I called the hotel and the gentleman told me there was no way for them to give me a receipt until after my stay. I've never heard this before. Not sure if guy was new, or just wasnt aware, but a receipt should be provided upon payment. I had an uneasy feeling, but I didnt argue.
I saw several reviews raving about the food, specifically the breakfast and chef queen. It was one of the reasons I chose the hotel as I was looking forward to starting the days with breakfast at the hotel, then exploring. THERE WAS NO HOT BREAKFAST. Just items provided in the snack area. When I asked the front desk clerk about the hot breakfast, she told me the items were all they had and referred me to a restaurant. There was also no food later in the day. The hotel advertises wings and other small bites during happy hour. The bartender (both bartenders during my stay were AMAZING btw!) informed me that they didnt have a cook. So if you plan to eat at the hotel at any time of the day, CALL AHEAD. Please note, the lack of services is the sole reason I rated the service as poor. Every staff member we encountered did a great job.
Lastly, the hotel doesnt service the room unless requested. Since we planned to spend the day at SeaWorld, around 9am I asked for the trash to be dumped, and for our towels to be replaced with fresh towels. That was it, nothing much. We returned to the room just before 5pm. Trash was still full, and dirty towels were still sitting in a pile waiting to be exchanged. This was fixed promptly when I called the front office. We were also provided waters from the housekeeping manager and assured that it wouldnt happen again... It didn't.
All in all the hotel is beautiful, safe, and great for kids and adults! We loved our spring break and I had high expectations based on the reviews, they just fell short in a few areas.
