image By far the worst customer service Ive ever experienced! I entered the branch and was greeted right away which was great. I advised I needed to get a cashiers check in exchange for a personal check. Initially I was told if Im not a customer then they cannot do that. I asked when that changed as Ive done it before for a fee. After 5 minutes of research Im then told it can be done. I walk back to the teller window where a gentlemen proceeds to ask why I didnt want to just deposit the check at my bank. I advised I wanted certified funds. He then went on to tell the person who had told me we could do this that we cant. After 10 mins of them playing in their PC, Im again advised it can be done but at a higher fee than I was initially quoted. Fine whatever. I give my DL, sign the check, and feel like progress is being made. After another 5 mins Im told additional verification needs to be made. Due to the amount of the check I assumed theyd be calling the issuer to ensure the check was good. This Im also fine with. I text the person who gave me the check to let them know to expect a call. Another 5 mins passed and Im again told they were going to try to reach the issuer. Not sure what they were doing all this time but whatever. The gentleman then returns to me asking again why I didnt want to just deposit the check at my bank. I responded asking why doesnt he just want to give me a cashiers check. At this point Im livid and feeling like Im being treated as a criminal OR that they didnt want to do the work. He then proceeds to tell me that cashiers checks get held now a days and that getting certified funds doesnt even make a difference. He the. Asked if Id like to open an account with the check. I rolled my eyes, asked for the check back, and advised that after this experience Bank of America would never get my business!
