Update: we are still with Emler and my 5 star review still stands. I would give it more stars if I could. My now 6.5 year old has come so far that you couldnt believe he is the same kid that clutched on to his instructors with death grip and cried for 20 out of the 30 minutes. He is with Ms. Katie right now and she has been able to help him improve by leaps every week.
I found out late last year that they offer adult classes as well, and I enrolled myself to learn as well. I never took swim lessons growing up but I took lessons at the Y when my son was born with the hope that he and I will swim together. In two months at the Y I was able to kick, across with my face in the water. But life got in the way and I never continued, until now. I am at Emler Plano with Ms Bibiana. And I have done couple make up sessions with Ms Nyla. These two are tremendous and have built my confidence. While they let me progress at my pace, but they also push me to do better even if I am hesitant. Other instructors who are there during my class, who have seen me bring my son every week, cheer me on as well, along with Mr Chris who is always around with helpful suggestions. I am in a class with two others: another mom and a teen who is finessing his skills. We cheer and encourage each other every step of the way! I love this Emler location. Each and every instructor is happy to be there and teach. Credit goes to the manager Mr Chris and assistant manager Ms Lynette. If it wasnt apparent from my previous essay, I mean, review, I repeathighly, highly, HIGHLY, recommend this location.
We have been taking classes here since Jan 2022. It was rough start when my kid refused to put his face in the water and spent more time crying not wanting to do anything. But the instructors are tremendously patient and make every effort to build trust with your child. Mr. Chris and Ms. Lynette are rockstars at running the place and teaching the kids with a bit of tough love and lots of encouragement. My 5 year old came a long way when we did the make up before the Holidays in 2022. They were mostly one on one with Mr. Chris and he definitely worked hard on getting my son as far as he did. My 5 year old cant wait to go to his class.
The staff is always pleasant, and they engage with parents as much as they do with kids. And weirdly (in a good way), they know each and every kids name and they say hello to them as soon as the kid walks in!
I had heard mixed reviews about Emler but this location (Plano) has surpassed all my expectations and then some! Thank you, Mr. Chris and Ms. Lynette and to all the instructors that have taught and teach my son. Highly highly recommend this Emler location!

Great facility, always clean, always well-staffed. The teachers are fantastic, taking the time with each of our kiddos to ensure they feel safe in and out of the pool. We've been there maybe a month and they all know our names. Great environment to teach water safety and swimming. It's fun, it's an important life skill, and I highly recommend Emler.

We've been taking our grandson to Emler in Plano for several months now. We built a pool in our new backyard and it is important that he learn water safety and hopefully develop a love for swimming. We feel like he can safely get out of the pool if he happens to fall in and he's developing swimming basics after only a few months. And he's only 2! So happy with Emler.

We love coach Heidi! She is so patient, positive, and provides helpful and supportive feedback throughout the class. We started our daughter at 6 months, and it is amazing to see how far she has come in just 3 months already! She is growing to love the pool more every class, and I am growing more confident is my ability to keep her safe and help grow her skills in the pool.

We love Emler Plano! They have been wonderful to work with. Our child has been in small groups where learning is facilitated, and teachers have always worked to help push her towards her individual goals (versus just doing run-of-the-mill same thing for every kid). We have been impressed with upper level management, theyre all super approachable, friendly, and seem legitimately happy to have our child there each week. All of our swim instructors have been knowledgeable and patient. We love the location and find the classes very reasonable price wise. There are also a wide variety of days and times to choose from with regards to swim classes; I imagine most people would be able to find something that would work well with their schedule. I would (and have) recommend this facility to anyone looking keep their child safe in the water!
