image Three stars are for the nurses they were very nice. I was referred to Dr. Nair by my primary care doctor. While he was polite, I did not feel listened to whatsoever. I will be seeking a second opinion elsewhere

image HeartPlace Plano, specifically Dr. Patel's PA Stacy Andrews and their electronic fax authorization is a nightmare to work with when trying to get a response -- even to other doctor's offices. Our experience has been rife with errors, promises that mean nothing and a lack of responsiveness to other doctors.
My mother was out of the country and needed cardiologist approval for two spinal surgeries (fusing discs). Several weeks before she left, my mother notified Dr. Patel's office and HeartPlace Plano about the situation, including that she would be abroad and my mother specifically canceled an appointment scheduled for the time she would be abroad. When the surgeon's office contacted Dr. Patel's office multiple times, there was NO RESPONSE. None. They would not return calls.
Finally, my mother called the office from abroad and was told that the office felt there was no need to respond to the surgeon's office because of the (previously cancelled) appointment when they would see her in person.
"No," she said. "I cancelled that appointment."
"Well, we need to see you. What if we reschedule for Friday. Can you get her by then?"
"I'm still out of the country," my mother said, and reiterated her schedule and asked them to coordinate with the surgeon's office.
Eventually, a time when she could come in to the office in person was arrived at, several days after she returned, and exactly the deadline for approval before the surgeries. HeartPlace Plano confirmed that the 10 am appointment would leave PLENTY of time for them to send approval before the 5 pm deadline.
When my mother came to the appointment, she stressed the significance of the deadline and told the PA, Stacy Andrews, that she was just going to wait in the office until there was confirmation that the approval had been sent to the surgeon. Stacy Andrews promised my mother (literally said, "I promise") that the approval would be sent early, and that it was a high priority.
So, what happened? The faxed approval (electronic fax system) was not sent through until 6:01 pm, after the 5 pm deadline, and both surgeries had to be rescheduled.
Even a phone call from the surgeon's office, concerned about the deadline and approval, at 1 pm did not get anything but explanations that the surgeon would have to wait for the fax.
What, logically, happened?
It is most likely that Stacy Andrews did not send the fax early.
It is possible that the electronic fax approval system has a problematic server that sometimes becomes overloaded.
What are the endemic problems?
Neither of these issues addresses why the previous communication with my mother and appointment cancellation were not recorded by office staff.
Neither of these issues addresses the lack of responsiveness to the surgeon's office calls.
My sister has taken leave from the military for the dates of these two surgeries -- and won't be able to get approval for the new timeframe. My own obligations to students means that I can't change my availability for the updated timeframe.
My mother is incredibly depressed.
This did not need to happen. Returning a phone call or expediting an approval is not rocket science. Something is deeply wrong with this cardiologist's office.

image If anyone try to apply for this location or company do not. They do not care about the employees. They pay low, and want you to work like you got 8 arms or a robot. They will not pay you over time or care about your health. The Supervisor is Racist and she will blame everyone else before she WOMAN up from her mistakes. She will lie on her employees to keep her image. She do not care about her patients, she HATE BLACKS but tolerate like she care about. She choose who she wanna give off time to when its needed. They want you to work with 4 dr at time and complete their stuff before 5 oclock when you probably will not get done with the last patient till 4:30pm. You cannot go to HR because they lazy to do they work, they always say dont go over you manger. So they there for nothing. I AM TELLING YOU, DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY OR LOCATION UNLESS YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR MENTAL. THEY HAVE A BIG TURNOVER RATE Due to management and HR unprofessional behavior.

image This location was recommended by my primary doctor. First it took me over 45 days to get an appointment, thats a very long time to have to wait when you are dealing with possible heart issues. On the day of your appointment they waste no time collecting your payment and wont even speak to you until you complete payment on a kiosk in the lobby. The kiosk said to go to the desk after completed, so I went to the desk and they said Im checked in. This is where the waiting began. I checked in at 2:13 for my 2:30 appointment. I sat and watched 2 dozen other patients come, be seen, and leave. They have signs all over the waiting room that say If you havent been called back in 15 minutes please come to the desk. When you go to the desk, all they say is that we are sorry for the wait, we dont know whats going on. Finally back to the room at 3:40. The assistant was super friendly and nice but after she took my vitals it was back to waiting. It is currently 4:02 and I still have not seen or heard from the doctor. I will post an update once this experience is over.
