Richard J. Kearns, M.D.

I have used Dr. Kearns for two hip replacements. He is extremely professional and dedicated to his clients. In fact I was there for a check up on Tuesday April 28 and he assisted me on another medical issue. He cares for his patients and in doing the hip replacements based on his recommendations my recovery time was cut in half. I had the first hip replacement in 2003 and it is still high functioning.

Dr Richard Kearns is one of the finest people I know. He is also one of the finest surgeons I know. Next year , 2022 will be the 20th anniversary of having him replace both of my knees at age 56. All these years later my most recent X-rays show that the implants are good to go another 20 years. Having your knees replaced is not an easy thing, but I did my homework and learned as much about knee replacements that was available to me. I researched the best doctors/ surgeons in Houston too. The name I kept hearing was that of Richard Kearns who was part of the Fondren Orthopaedic Group at Texas Orthopaedic Hospital. I consulted with him and asked him dozens of questions. He was forthright and forthcoming about what to expect, I even had both knees done on the same day. I was 100% satisfied and still am 20 years later. His staff and everyone associated with my experience there has always been excellent. In fact, I just saw him yesterday which was 4/22/21. Although, I am happy for Dr. Kearns, I am sad to see him retire over this coming summer. There will be many people who won’t get to experience the gift of his knowledge and experience. I am hopeful that there will continue to be Orthopaedic surgeons in this group of the same caliber as Dr Richard Kearns.

Started seeing dr Kearns. About 20 years ago, he performed replacement surgeries on both my knees 10 years apart. Both replacements were 100% effective, never to this day have I had problems with either knee. People I know that had knees replaced even after surgeries they continue to have various problems afterwards. Dr Kearns has always shown outstanding professionalism in my encounters with him over the many years, the community will miss him dearly as I will, cannot replace people (doctors) like him. Saw him this week for my hip problems and I will admit to being quite emotional thru it all, we wish him nothing but good things in his retirement. Manny Espinola

All I can say is Wow 🤩 he is so nice, so professional and skilled at what he does. He is truly a specialist!! Dr.Kearns listen and respected the wishes of my surgery I feel like a new person HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. FYI: his staff Kim and Taylor are great as well as very helpful and kind!!
