Far too often women of color go into medical facilities and are not taken care of properly or heard on their pain. I've always prayed this never happens to me. Over the past couple of years I have researched and looked for the right doctor for my hysterectomy because going into surgery is a big fear in itself. If you dont have a medical physician who listens and caters to your concerns doing any procedure will feel uneasy. I found Dr. Bhalani in New Orleans in 2004, as my original OBGYN was no longer accepted patients due to his retirement was near. From the moment I walked into her office I felt a peaceful calm. There was one thing that stood out to me with her and I have told her the story. Vaishali has been the best doctor I have had, she took great care of me during my rough pregnancy and delivery. We have kept in touch over the years and I have had visits with her after Hurricane Katrina (traveling from Dallas to New Orleans) until she move significantly far away and my new insurance plan didn't cover her as a provider :(. I trust that if I say to her I'm in pain she will look into it. I was elated when she told me she was in Houston,TX and she was in my insurance network. I trust her personal judgment and medical advice. She is professional, caring, and family oriented. All of the things one should take in consideration for their care.

I have had very positive experiences at WSH. I have been a patient for many years. The process of getting the care I have needed, through paperwork, phone calls, and making appointments has always been carried out in a timely manner. Staff consistently arranges follow ups in a straightforward and timely manner. Arranging further plans for testing and getting prescriptions has always been a smooth process. All staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. Dr. Calasanz is a wonderful gynecologist. Along with her expertise, she is extremely compassionate. She is very good at listening, and she is very understanding. Making appointments is a process that goes very smoothly. Availabilty is open and flexible. Communication is very open, and I consistently get responses to my questions within 24 hours. I would also like to add that the environment/offices are very organized and well kept. During COVID-19, appropriate safety measures are taken. This has made me feel significantly less anxious about being in a public area. The waiting room is comfortable and spacious. Social distancing is excellent, extremely ideal, and very possible. I have been able to get my gynecological needs met, and that continues to this day. I am very grafeful for this, and I very much reccommend WSH.
