My first impression was through email, and she seemed very cold in writing. I almost didn't meet her because of it. But when I met her she seemed very nice. She only sees patients a few days a week for about a 4 hour block of the day. Very inflexible on the times. Either you fit into her schedule, or she can't work with you. Though she was nice, she didn't help me with my depression. Her prescription for me was to work out and to socialize. Both of which already do...Then she seemed to push for me to get on anti depressants again, which she knew I was against getting back on them. I wanted to be happy naturally, and that was why I came to see her. The last time I went she was late I guess because of a new patient, which was fine. But she cut my time short I guess to catch up? I thought that was kind of crappy. Even if it's 5 or 10 minutes, it still is time you pay for. I became ill and missed an appointment (which I never do) and she charged me $50. I thought that was pretty steep considering I missed a doctor appointment a few years back, and they only charged me a $25. I would have thought for first offenders it might be waived or even lessened (i.e. first time $30, next $50), I didn't schedule a follow up after that just because I can't afford to see her for a couple weeks due to that, and her lack of concern really hurt my feelings. You'd think if your patient doesn't call to schedule a follow up then you'd be concerned as a therapist. Her lack of concern made me feel like I was just another slot she was filling in to her very limited schedule. Anyway, I left feeling no better than I came and with hurt feelings.
