I have been under Dr. Stevenson's care for almost five years.  She is a no-nonsense doctor; she can be blunt sometimes, but often that's a good think, not bad.  Hospital-trained and very clinical.  At the same time, she is also a trained psychoanalyst and pursues various related intellectual interests.

The WORST therapist Ive ever been to. She claims she knows how to treat anxiety yet she made mine worse. Shes beyond horrible at returning calls - youll NEVER get a call back. Not even from her assistant.

I have borderline personality disorder, which dr. stevenson specializes in. Im a 27 year old female, and was diagnosed at the age of 19. At the age of 22 i went to the best outpatient bpd program in the country in cambridge, MA, under Harvard university and world renown Dr. Gunderson, and Louis Cho-Kan. Which was amazing and gave me a 180 experience. i however did not follow up with consistent out patient therapy. And went on to make some unwise choices, partying and typical 20year old problems just a little than average as BPDS do. Which led me to more suffering, frustration and self destruction. I was insecure, anxious, out of two psychopathic romantic relationships, and have carried a lot of trauma from my abusive family patterns. I always felt trapped in my life. When i started with Dr. Stevenson i wasn't sure how are patient - doctor relationship would go, but I just went with it, trusting that she was very well referred. I have been a consistent patient of her for over a year and a half now. Going once a week. I will say consistency is therapy is very key. I was never consistent with it before, and didn't have the capacity to be so that i was bpd and always wrapped in my emotions and distracted by them. I'm SO grateful and thankful to come to her. She has helped me tremendously in ways i had only dreamed of before. My part and working involved too. I have had more success in my professional and personal life, as well as over all happiness and healthiness, thanks to the guidance of this MD. i would highly recommend if you are suffering from BPD
