Not as advertised. Not well maintained. Doesnt look like pictures. Strong unpleasant odor in rooms. Location and room sizes are a plus otherwise Id encourage you to stay elsewhere. Rooms : 1/5 | Service : 2/5 | Location : 5/5 More

reserved 2 suites. One suite was decent and clean when we got there except for a nonfunctional bed lamp. The 2nd room had no comforter, 2 pillow, and only 2 towels. Outside of courtyard was dirty with trash and cigarette butts on ground and leading up the stairs. The breakfast was nothing like in the picture with hot food. Only hot thing was oatmeal and was pretty watered down. Sad selection of breakfast compared to the pictures that we reviewed before booking. Cleaners dont come around except every 3 days and towels only replaced if you leave in bag outside of doors, but soon realize you have no bag to put it in.
Overall Im only rating them a 3 because the staff was friendly. The kitchen staff was super polite and front desk workers always had a smile on when greeting. Never saw the housekeepers so cant say much about that.

Have you ever been locked out of your hotel room because the hotel changed your reservation after you checked in? I can now say that I have.
I had a four night reservation, but when I went back for the last night, my key didn't work.
I went to the front desk and they told me that I only had a three night reservation. This place does not give any paperwork, when you check-in or when you check out, so I had no way to dispute it.
I had booked the room through a third party and had contacted them to try to resolve the issue. I was on the phone for over an hour trying to determine a way to keep from having to move. They were unable to resolve the issue because the reservation and confirmation number had been completely wiped out of Sonesta's system. I was on the phone for almost an hour trying to get this resolved but was unable to. The only option I had was to move hotels.
There was no one available to help me other than the overworked Lady behind the desk who was also trying to check in multiple other people that were also having problems with their reservations.
Both Hotwire's and Sonesta's customer service lines could not explain or understand why I couldn't get my room back for the night.
Other guests had problems with their payments going through.
In 20 plus years of staying on the road this was a first.
Rooms: This is not your normal Sonesta ES room. It is nowhere near the usual level. The noise from the highway was so loud it sounded like a window was open. There was no hot water on the second morning. There wasn't anyone on site to look at it, so the guy at the front desk said he would let someone know. Called back that afternoon. The guy that answered had no idea what I was talking about. There was no record of my previous call or issue, but somehow, the water was repaired. There was only one door on the closet and it came off the rail when I tried to move it. If I were a smaller person, it would have fallen on me.
Safety: The parking lot is dim and spaces are limited. There is broken glass in the parking lot. The electrical plugs in the room are few and far between. They don't work reliably and would lose power during the night and shut off my CPAP. Come to think of it, not staying another night may have saved my life.
Noteworthy details: Some time after check-in, my reservation was changed from 4 nights to 3 nights with no notice. My belongings were locked up in the room. They could not correct my reservation and I was forced to change hotels.
