Believe the negative reviews…
Refinanced my car with them (a nightmare of a process to say the least), and shortly after refinancing my car was totaled (no fault of my own).
My insurance company reached out to pay off the vehicle AND the loan(within a week of the car being totaled) but PenFed wouldn’t follow up with a letter of guarantee. This was the 1st issue. During this time, the monthly payment was nearing due (although Penfed had ample notice that the car had been totaled and that my insurance company was trying to pay them), it still took 30+ days, ample calls from me, just for Penfed to FINALLY send the letter of guarantee. This was the 2nd issue.
Once Penfed received the $28,000+ check from my insurance company, they then reported me to the credit bureaus as being 2 months late! ON A CAR THAT HAD BEEN TOTALED SINCE 6/6/2021! ALTHOUGH THEY RECEIVED THE $28,000+ check! What?!! This was the last and final issue.
I will NEVER, EVER, do business with these people again. Beware.

Staff is always friendly.They moved across street to the Exchange.Must go through security check in , park walk about 100 yards to enter . Not so bad for me but i was taking my 83 old friend, it was not pleasant for him at all .We are in Texas and its August.

Post customer service has been poor and difficult to contact via their phone tree. Once answered I am often transferred to another department or phone hold and it never stops. Website interface is challenged and difficult to perform basic tasks. I bank several places - best so far 53.com for a solid customer service vs Penfed.
