Apex Clearing Corporation

Apex Clearing has absolutely arcane ways of working, resulting in $15 monthly fees, twisted hoops and layers of tangled red tape, bureaucracy, and general user unfriendliness. My account was through another company, serviced through Apex Clearing. The other company shuttered the business, and transferred the account fully to Apex Clearing, with no way out. I only had about $60. Without warning, I was being charged $15 a month in fees. In order to pay for it, Apex Clearing began liquidating my account! Stocks being sold left and right and money being drained until my account was bled dry. In attempting to get them to send me a check for my funds, they required mountains of ID information, along with a notarized letter! The notary fee would cost more than the value of my account! Their online account portal is a glitchy nightmare. Stay away from this company, and stay away from any company that uses them.

I sure hope the SEC will investigate this company. Imposiable to get a hold of to transfer your money out. They don't answer the phones and terrible at responding to emails. Its as though they have no idea what they are doing and can't respond to simple communication. I like others had my daughters money moved over from flyte to Apex Clearing and can't get it transfered to another brokerage they keep saying the SSN doesn't match. I am going to file a complaint with the SEC and encourage everone else to do the same.

They seem to be happy to allow money laundering to occur, as long as they get there cut. Someone opened an account in my name and address, and since I'm not there customer I have no way of contacting anybody. Nobody even answers the phone, just a voice-mail, and I'm not about to give out the amount of info requested for any email communication.

So I used the app Bumped which no longer is in existence - and then they turned my funds to Apex. I really don't appreciate a threatening letter which forces me to jump hoops to get my $13 (and some change) or else have to pay a $15 a month fee for them holding it. Really?? For $13?? I'm still waiting on getting all my funds cleared out their account but feel like they are purposefully taking so long so I have to pay. Also, even though I did get in touch with someone, it is really hard to get a hold of anyone. Not by phone, and it took me a couple tries to email. Again I think it's all done on purpose so they can enforce fees.
