I had a very unpleasant experience at Spicy II. I have taken my daughter there many times and she almost always finds things she likes. About 2 weeks ago my daughter bought a $48 top at Spicy II. It was a cute, casual gauze top with metal tassels on the end on each of the 2 strands of fabric which tie at the front of the neck. The top had been worn 2 times, once by my daughter for about one hour and once by me for about 2 hours. It had never been washed. When I returned from dinner I noticed one of the tassels was missing. I went back to the store today, the top was still there, still full price, but the young girl working in the store said nothing which had been worn could be returned, store policy. I said even if it is defective and she said yes. I asked if I could speak with the owner and she said she could not give out the owners number, but if I would leave my name and number she would call the owner and have the owner call me. I asked the girl to please call her and she replied," I am not allowed to call the owner while the customer is in the store". I told her I would walk next door while she called the owner. I went back to the store after a few minutes and she reiterated the store policy that nothing which had been worn could be returned even if it was defective. I asked if the owner was going to call me and she said NO, the owner told me to give you the message. I really felt sorry for the salesperson, and judging from her demeanor this scenario had happened many times before. The salesperson was polite and professional, but the owner's policy is ridiculous. Even if the policy didn't change, I would have thought the owner would have the courtesy and professionalism to speak with me. Perhaps she can treat SMU students this way, but it will be extremely difficult for me to purchase clothing there ever again. A $48 top which was worn for a total of 3 hours will now be a rag. The money is a inconsequential, but a business which operates this way is offensive. Sep 16th, 2010

Am I the only one who shops on Yelp? I mean, really? How am I the first to review this place? 2 words: Party dresses This store's main focus is occasional dresses and there are racks of them in an assortment of colors. They do have some cute tops and jackets and accessories too, but this is the place to go for the perfect dress for any event. The owner of this store is so nice and knows me by name and still talks about my complete hissy fit over the jacket I coveted last year but for some reason didn't buy. Non-buyer's remorse hit me, I went back the next day, and it was all sold out!!! I still stand in my closet imagining all of the great outfits that could have been made...stupid budget. Prices range from about $50- all the way up to the $100's, and I ALWAYS walk out of there with a shiny new outfit. They do not do returns, however, so be savvy when you shop. (This is why I deducted one star). But the best part of this store? Um, hello, it is right next door to Tasti D Lite! Now you can shop and indulge w/o feeling guilty bc the yogurt is like 80 calories!!!! Aug 17th, 2009
