I went to Dr Bosse at Airrosti in desperation after physical therapy at a hospital associated outpatient clinic stalled. Two months of therapy at this clinic reduced my pain somewhat at first, but my progress plateaued and I was getting nowhere. A family member recommended that I try Dr Bosse because he had cured her muscle problem that a major hospital group in Dallas had been unable to fix. In the first visit, it was apparent that Dr Bosse understood the root cause of my pain as nerve inflammation around my thumb. His slow massage was somewhat painful but felt like it was getting to the root cause of the problem. I felt a little better immediately. Dr Bosse also recommended icying instead of the heat plus icying combination I had been doing. He also emphasized icying my hand area rather than my arm. Dr Bosses therapist, Nicole Swank, helped me learn the exercises they recommended. She was patient and easy to understand, she emailed summaries of each visit with videos of the exercises, and she answered emailed questions. After doing daily icing plus recommended exercises, I felt stronger and had less pain almost every day. My hand strength is almost back to normal after only two weeks, and I have gone of Ibuprofen. I had three sessions with Airrosti over a period of two weeks and was discharged. My pain is almost gone, and Im confident that it will subside completely. I am now able to do simple things like opening doors and tying my shoes without pain, but I was unable to do those things before going to Airrosti. Initially I was reluctant to try Airrosti because neither Medicare nor my Medicare Advantage covers their services. I think this is tragic. Why should individuals and Medicare waste money on ineffective treatments, and why should the lack of coverage of effective health services cause people to live with prolonged pain? I found out from my Medicare Advantage Group that my personal physician could contact Cohere Health to recommend that Airrosti treatment be covered by insurance. It will take some time to find out whether this works, but in the meantime, Im elated to be getting back to normal life.
