I made an appointment via Styleseat, got the confirmation and the $1 charge is showing on my bank account PROVING I made an appointment for TODAY MARCH 13TH 2021 at 9:45am. I get there and she doesnt answer the door, I text THREE TIMES with no response. And still at 1:39pm, I STILL HAVENT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. Very unprofessional, and I had plans for this evening. Will definitely let everyone on FB and IG know about her lack of professionalism and highly recommend that no one books her for services.

I arrived at 12:15. I was not greeted until 12:50. I was left sitting there alone. Stylist had a volunteer washing my hair. The volunteer was very sweet and polite although she obviously was not a professional nor trying to be a stylist of any form. After washing, volunteer gave me a Steam/Hydration Treatment and placed me under the dryer for 45 minutes. No one came to check on me but the volunteer. Another 30 minutes passed so I gave in and peeked around the corner. There were 3 ladies just sitting there conversing, loud, ghetto and speaking explicit. Stylist Tamekia stated that she will be right with me. 30 minutes later stylist arrived at the wash bowl. I was confused. Why would you wet my hair after you just finished drying it? She replied, its ok then directed me to her styling chair. I sat in the chair and Tamekia began to spray my hair with a minimum amount of leave in conditioner then proceeded to blow out my hair, which was still 100% dry! The conditioner did not help. Let me advise you I have super thick, kinky, natural 4c hair. When I questioned the stylist, she became irate and asked me if I would like to reschedule. I declined and began to diffuse the situation. I explained to her that I was not trying to be rude in any way, Ive just never seen a stylist perform a blow out on dry hair. The way my hair was crackling, it was obvious she was damaging my hair! Her response was she can refuse service to whoever she may please and that she will send my money back. I sat there to make sure I was refunded yet Tamekia acted like as if my information was wrong and she did not know how to use Zelle. I even took the high road and apologized for any miscommunication when I could have gotten ignorant. Im a young corporate professional myself, I let her know that we are all adults and confronted her on the situation, yet all she could say in defense was, The vibes were not right for new clients and began to explain that it was something within her, not me, and to not take it personally. What does a vibe have to do with doing your job? Imagine arriving to your job/career and then leaving and when they ask why, because the vibes are not right. The salon looked ghetto and her work looks amateur so it was not even worth going that route. She also has a small dog that she allows to run freely around the salon that jumped in my lap several times. Im allergic to dogs! Tamekia cancelled my appointment on Style Seat so I couldnt leave a bad review. 4 hours of my time wasted. If you dont know how to properly care for natural hair, or just didnt want to do the work, just say that! I saw the reviews on Google but tried to give Tamekia the benefit of the doubt, I wish I had listened. Save your time, your money and your natural hair and book elsewhere. Dallas is the wrong place to have that attitude, especially on the South Side. Karma is real and eventually shell learn her lesson. Services: Hairstyling, Hair extensions
