I see Dr Robert Marks at his north location (this one). I've also seen Dr Raffi & their NP Charlotte. All staff (from front office to medical assistants, nurses, doctors, to back office managers more) are professional, efficient, reachable, and caring. That last characteristic seems to be missing from (many) other pain management practices. It most definitely *not* here.
My review of Dr Marks is on his page; please go there for more. I will be reviewing Dr Raffi on his page: watch there. Ive interacted with Charlotte (more when I first arrived, less so recently): she is wonderful; if I ever couldn't see Dr Marks I'd have *no problem* seeing Dr Raffi or Charlotte. I did NOT feel like that APA at my previous clinic.
I don't believe Dr Marks is accepting new patients, however Dr Raffi is. BOTH help patients get approval for best practice treatments & medications, or access to acceptable alternatives.
I don't remember how I found them, but I transferred from another Austin pain management associate clinic (first bought now closed, with doctors dispersed throughout). In general, I'm getting the care I never did elsewhere. Dr Marks adds staff who adhere to his belief: *pain relief or end* for his patients, not the belief of my previous clinic: patients will always be in pain!
(Note: I'll edit with better directions!)
The North clinic is off the feeder to Mopac: traveling South, make sure you turn Right as you see a Hospital sign, before reaching the deadend to turn onto Waters Way. If you miss, turn right onto Waters Way, then turn right again: the office door is on the BACK of the building (the door does not face Mopac!)
Almost all procedures are completed in their Clinic, with IV, oxygen, monitoring equipment, etc. These are done on Friday AMs. Larger surgeries are performed elsewhere: Dr Marks (with Dr Raffi assisting) inserted my permanent Spinal Cord Stimulator at a NW Hills Surgical Center.
They do need a referral, however it does not need to be from your existing PM clinic. They will: ask you to complete a large packet (highly recommend dropping by to get it before your appointment!) & do a drug screen via a urine test (these are collected in house but sent out to a lab covered by your insurance: just FYI for those caught with excessive charges elsewhere APA).
I've been with this clinic since early 2017: I don't plan on going elsewhere.
