Pros -BRAND new complex built 2020, which equals brand new....everything, Including all appliances! ((Theres a level of comfort knowing youre the first tenant using all appliances especially washer, dryer, and carpets!)) -Amenities! The gym, clubhouse, and pool are SUCH a dream. Visit their website for the gallery. -Location: It's a decent location within Austin city limits. You can be almost anywhere within 20 minutes (with no traffic). Cons -Leasing office with slow response rate. Ive only seen a few employees in the office, that oversee over 350 units. So yes, we get it, theyre busy, most effective approach is to walk-in versus email / phone. -Main complex entrance: can be SUCH a pain. Especially if you are leaving the complex and need to turn left. There is also no turn lane driving INTO the complex. Does not help that the intersection is SO busy, especially afternoon rush hour. -You have to endure the constant STOMPING from neighbors above. Youd think new complexes have mastered the ability to soundproof units better. NOPE. I havent even bothered complaining because office probably wont respond. What are they going to do? I know most units are going through this, especially since the units only have carpets in the bedrooms and closets. Just terrible, guess I need to add ear plugs to my shopping list. -Unit finishes, you can blatantly tell that during construction, attention to detail was NOT paid. Theres little white paint droplets throughout all of the hardwood flooring (that I will have to eventually scrape off drop by drop). Walked into my new unit to find a carpet stain, small knicks throughout the walls, doors, and wood siding. Not to mention the cabinetry, the worst of it all! Cabinets (that are both in kitchen and bathrooms) are clearly inexpensive, they are light, they smudge easily. And upon installing, there was a LOT of damage, which is clearly patched up throughout. The contractors were probably running behind schedule and just told the construction crew to get it done asap, since all units went through pre-leasing, and move-in dates quickly approached. Such a disappointment. Overall, it is a nice complex to reside at, being new and all. As noted above, it DOES come with headaches so be warned. The area is up-and-coming, far enough from the hustle and bustle from Downtown.

I moved in last month and love it! The office people have been super friendly and helpful with all my questions and needs. The gym is great, and although it's been too cold, the pool looks inviting!

this review is for you, an interested potential resident , not for Lucent apartments to respond to. A few reasons for the one star. 1. Traffic noise is terrible. Whataburger noise all night. 2. There was a change in ownership halfway through everyones lease and they totally messed up everyones bills. They sent 3 month old bills and requested everyone pay immediately. They also changed the sites where we pay the bills and my neighbors were also confused. You know theres such thing as a grace period, right? Youre given a utility bill IN ADVANCE and given time to pay it. And when you (Lucent) mess up and dont send residents their utility bills for THREE months and say pay today, people are naturally going to be confused and probably miss your message. 3. The change in ownership was not for the better. The new staff does not do a good job of communicating, their emails are full of basic grammatical, stylistic and formatting errors which makes it hard to understand what they are saying. They are also not necessarily the most professional either. 3. Its highly unsafe to drive in and out of the apartment given the street opening. Lucent could do better to demand the City put up a stop light or safer opening for residents. 4. The dog owners here get away with not picking up after their animals or having them on leashes. Ive nearly stepped on dog poop way too many times 5. This is a classic example of unaffordable living in Austin which only favors the pockets of The Lucent Apartments millionaire owners. My rent is $1465 for a 2x2. Just months later, my same unit is going for $2000+. Arbitrary increases in rent to cash in on working people. Im sad to say theres not many alternatives out there for people and until we get more affordable housing, we have to stay educated on our rights as tenants.

We've had substantial issues even before moving in (that should have been a red flag) including delays in construction, resulting in hotel stay for over a week and having to move our things into storage, while only getting partially refunded. Since the transfer of management companies, there was a miscommunication about refunds, so we were forced to pay out of pocket for the delay in our move-in. No fault to the new company, just unfortunate they couldn't get it resolved. The apartment itself is nice and big, but with cheap finishes like easily-stained granite counter tops, laminate floor lifting, and a broken drawer. We've had to call the maintenance team twice since moving in (only been a month), for A/C not working, and multiple electrical socket outages. For being a new building, you would expect higher quality.
