I was out of town and the hot water stopped. Called so my family wouldn't have to be without hot water while I was gone. They missed the first appointment, and then showed up late for the second, and called back to say the element was bad but quoted an insane price to replace it. I told them nevermind I'll just do it myself. Got home and the element was fine! It was the thermostat that was bad! Couldn't even correctly diagnose an issue.
