5 stars because we all know any negativity gets shuffled out of sight, but Imma be honest. Make no mistake these folks are actively trying NOT to issue your ID or licensing. It took my teen and I SIX tries to get his license and motorcycle endorsement switched over from another state. We'd show up with requested documents only to be told some detail wasn't right. The clerk would explain what we need, we'd show back up with it again a few days or weeks later when we had time again to miss work or school, only to be told the documents had some sort of detail making them invalid.
For example, our motor vehicle driver report wasn't current enough, the utility bill wasn't current enough, the school attendance form was filled out with the wrong color ink (i wish i was joking but this was seriously said), the testing closed at 4 even though they say we could come after school, and they're open til 5. For FIVE different visits, they found SOME trivial reason to send us away. Finally we gathered the following after ordering several documents multiple times:
Birth certificate (original)
SS card (original)
Property deed to our residence
Most RECENT utility bill
School attendance form (in one color ink)
Motor vehicle driver report from previous state (has to be within 30 days of issue, you'll be waiting a week to get this form via snail mail)
Multiple affidavits
License from the other state
We definitely had all these documents for all 6 tries, but they found SOMETHING wrong with them each time until we literally had re-requested each thing so it was all current within the week. I have no idea how they handle home schooled kids as they seemed especially fussy about school attendance.
They probably just finally got sick of us showing up.
The women are fairly nice about not being able to help you, but I definitely got the impression they actively look for reasons not to issue your license, my guess is, ESPECIALLY if you're out of state trying to legalize yourself in Tennessee. A few visits they were literally shaking their heads at us as we were walking up to the counter until we started passing documents at them like a dealer at a casino, and they had to at least LOOK at them.
Maybe show up assuming you'll have to make multiple trips because I'm sure they don't appreciate one's snarky attitude every time you're turned away. But they're only open business hours of weekdays so that was SIX times of missing work and/or school and driving over 20 miles to get out there. Quite costly.
But we finally won what a rigamarole.

Moved from out of state went here to get my Tennessee driver's license all the staff members were very polite.

I am set up to get notification from my post office about what mail is coming and got e
A notification on an envelopefrom the DMV which would be my license. There was a photo of the envelope. Well it never delivered so was lost in the mail and when I went up to the DMV to tell them I needed a new one sent, one employee there tried to tell me that there was no way the first one could've been mailed to me that early, basically calling me a liar. I was told to come back a few weeks later. So I did, did the text thing to get put in the queue line and they sent me a text while I was sitting in the lobby saying to go to one of the counters. I get up there, they say they didn't call my #. But they DID text me. But again, I'm being called a liar. So I sit back down, and they never call my #. They CANCELED my ticket without telling me. Also, their vision machines are messed up. I hear every person trying to take the vision test complaining the screens flicker but the employees won't do anything about it. This makes people think they need glasses when they don't. It's the machines that aren't working right! And the employees are very slow workers. They take about 20 minutes per a customer. This place is a joke.

Best experience I've ever had at the DMV. Hands down. In and out in about 12 minutes and that included a quick bathroom break. The lady that helped me was very fast and friendly. Great place!!
