Short Version:
The KOA of Traveler’s Rest is the conditionally perfect place for you if you are straight, bible thumping, do not have any pets, and you go to bed by 10pm.
Long Version:
My husband and I stumbled across KOA in Traveler’s Rest as the campground we selected from the internet was a complete ghetto and the electrical wiring destroyed my electrical system. The electrician would not repair the RV while parked in the ghetto so an emergency relocation was necessary. We called ahead, Jason Tubb answered the phone and was receptive to a late arrival.
Upon arrival, Jason was waiting and quickly escorted us to an available space and assisted with the setup. The park is beautiful and Rebecca, Jason’s wife and five children operate the business fulltime and were hospitable.
Jason approached me after a couple days extending an offer for a long-term visit through the winter months which was of interest as the selection of acceptable campgrounds in Greenville SC are limited. I was happy to accept even though the most expensive the entire area. It’s a peaceful, small, place with constant transient RV traffic. We were asked to sign and initial a long list of rules which all were acceptable and we abided within the guidelines at all times.
Some of the rules are: no one should hear you or your dogs at any time which seems to stress neighbors when their dogs naturally barked, you may only have two chairs and one small table outside your RV at any moment, clean up after your pet at all times, your RV space must be neat and clean at all times with excess hose and piping neatly coiled, no visitors.
After time, the employees, Jason, and Rebecca Tubb developed an unfavorable behavior towards us then few days later we received a notice of non-compliance citing puppy poop violations while I collected very peanut sized poop produced (Chihuahuas). I was also advised that every extended visitor was provided the same citation, however; no one was aware nor did I witness notices posted on RVs.
Over the Christmas holiday period we received another notice of non-compliance, personal hand delivered by Jason Tubb on December 23rd, 2015, in a sealed envelope, demanding that we pick up after our pets or we will be asked to leave, citing that employees have witnessed us willfully and neglectfully leaving puppy poop on the ground. Again, citing that all extended stay visitors were cited which was also fallacious as we were the only people served. It was demanded that we sign the letter and return by December 24, 2015, stating that we would be evicted if anyone suspected us of violating the puppy poop rule. You see, it’s perceived to be against the law to discriminate so citing a violation would prevent allegeable legal challenges if pursued. We departed on our own accord after the Christmas holidays to a more accepting campground.
Being judged for who we are on this special time of year made our Christmas an unforgettable, depressing, frustrating, experience. You see, my husband and I are a GAY couple, legally married, and have many wonderful years together and we feel as if the bible thumping, Christian family that Jason, his wife, and their five children profess to be in every breath, were actually offended by our presence, even beleaguered us.
After many years, I understand why people may dislike me and my family and would not want to offend anyone by our identities as we are a happy, quiet, clean, law & rule abiding, professional GAY couple happy to live our lives in peace.
The KOA of Traveler’s Rest is the conditionally perfect place for you if you are straight, bible thumping, and do not have any pets.

My boyfriend and I pulled on to drive around and see it before we rented a spot, and some psycho security guard screamed at us, and chased us out. Then called the cops... all because we slowly drove home though admiring it. Do not go here unless you want to deal with a tyrant.

Traveling 6 hours and concert was cancelled. We were to stay 1 night. I called 47 hours in advance to cancel. As soon as I found out. JASON said the limit was 48 hours and would not refund my money. Charged me $69 . Very unreasonable. I asked if he would refund if he was able to fill the spot and he said no. Very RUDE. I don't care how nice it is.

Okay my visit at this KOA did not turn out too good. And from reading the other reviews I think they're having someone right the reviews for this KOA... first of all I did arrive at 6 a.m... which check in time is at 2 p.m.... I paid online for a tent site with water and electricity at 6 am on the koa website.... they were no sites left..... but the one right beside the office which is a terrible campsite... I stayed here once before many years ago.. it was much nicer... from what I can tell from driving through the campsite to turn around and to back into the terrible campsite right beside the office that all the campsites are stacked right on top of each other.... well let's just say same guy with the last name Todd I think came banging on my little redneck camper 11 p.m. telling me I had to leave and no he was a nice about it...... West I was thinking I can stay until tomorrow at 11 p.m..... okay I get it I know how motels work I might have been in the wrong..... but to have someone come up and bang on your camper and wake you up to tell you to leave..... and I hear them make fun of your camper why you are getting dressed to come out is not asking nothing but trouble..... he should have just waited until I woke up and either ask me for more money or ask me to leave I'm guessing this guy was a rookie Campground owner Todd
