I don’t even know where to start with this very uncomfortable experience. So, I was referred to this facility by my dentist for wisdom tooth removal. I go to the appointment and the dentist asked me how I old I was. I told her 23, she then goes “that’s way to old to still have wisdom teeth you should have taken them out years ago” which instantly made me feel off/ bad. She then goes on to explain how I can end up with permanent nerve damage because of my age and the removal. This instantly scare me. So we schedule the appointment for a few days out. Feeling uneasy after the awkward consultation I asked several friends who’ve gotten there teeth pulled in there 20/late 20s if they have ever been told that and everyone said no. Most of them have also gone to this same facility. Day of teeth pulling I go in and explain I took 5 days off of work. I took 5 days off because they say the average recovery is 3, (however everywhere I looked said 4+ especially having more than 2 teeth removed and I was getting all 5). My next reasoning for 5 days is I work as a family advocate/(case manager) and teacher for head start. I do a lot of communicating daily in the classrooms, in meetings. Calling clients etc. so being able to comfortably talk is a must, and lastly I have a very low pain tolerance and knew I would be absolutely miserable. After 3 days out ri state law says you have to fill out fmla paper work. Right before I explain this to the team and they go “you’ll only need 3 days off we can’t sign the the papers but we can give you a note” I think this is very weird but accept the note and do the surgery. Afterwards I wake up in extreme pain. They tell me to take an OTC pain reliever. I end up crying from pain for 5 hours straight and call back asking for medicine that they prescribe. Day 2 comes very swollen, still bleeding, in a lot of pain can barley open mouth. Day 3 comes (the day they say I should have been fine) very swollen, still can barley open mouth, hurts to talk, in a lot of pain still. Day 4 comes (yesterday) still very swollen, still in a lot of pain, still can barley open mouth. I text my boss asking if the letter the doctors gave me is alright and she says that I have to fill out fmla paper which I figured. I then cal the dentist office asking if they can sign my papers and the woman on the phone says they aren’t allowed and I should have been fine In 2-3 days but If I’m having problems they can come and check my mouth. I then try to explain that I need the papers to return for work and she still says they are unable to sign the papers but I can come in at 2:45. I hang up and agree. Feeling uneasy I call my regular dentist and ask about this and if dentist do not have to sign leave of absence paper work if needed, they sounded very confused and said I am the first person they heard having this problem. I go in at 245 and explain the situation to the dentist reading verbatim texts and emails from my HR and director supervisors. The dentist goes on to say you should have been fine to go back to work. She then looks at my face and ask how far I can open I show her i(it’s literally like 2 cm) and she goes the swelling will be the worst yesterday and today but should go down.after a bit of back and forth she signs the papers reiterating that I shouldn’t need them and signs the return to work for today. She then consults with her office manager and asks what other paper work and I said to expect the rest once hr sends it. Also while I’m writing this it is day 5, my face is still as swollen as it was on days 3/4 , my mouth is still an 8/10 on the pain scale, still can barley open my mouth. Recovery is a journey that is unique to each individual and I think it’s super unfair that this practice categorizes each of its patients recovery to the general standard. Some peoples bodies takes longer to heal. They made this recovery period extremely stressful instead of hearing me out as a patient when technically I only request 2 more days than there standard when I am in pain and clearly need it.

Thorough work and really friendly staff. Would recommend for quick and clean wisdom tooth extraction. Having this done personally scared me because I hate anesthesia and having operations done but the surgeon answered my many concerns and I felt comfortable going into it.

If I could give us zero stars I would. Iwas told I would have a free consultation and after my five minute consultation they charge me $90 and while waiting for the dentist to see me I got to listen to all the workers complain about all the patients and talk badly about them. Do not recommend
