image I went into the Housing Counseling Program that's described on their website, looking to "improve my current housing situation". I met with Elishiva a couple weeks ago, and she seemed very nice. She told me to come back with my filled out applications and either she or another caseworker would fax them. It took me a couple weeks to get back there because of health issues, and when I did I met with Natasha. It was a totally different experience. She didn't want to fax the applications. She acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. She said I was just supposed to mail them. Why did Elishiva tell me to come back then? It cost me 24.00 to take a Lyft roundtrip. I didn't feel up to taking the bus. Finally she did fax two of them. I asked her who I should contact to make a follow up appointment, her or Elishiva. She gave me a blank look. Follow-up appointment? For what? I told her for the housing counseling program. She told me all they do is give out applications, that's it. There's no follow-up, , no support to work through the process. I was confused and left her office without thanking her. As I walked into the hallway, she called after me, sarcastically, "You're wel-cooome." That was unnecessary.

This is something I copied and pasted directly from the UNC website:
Case Management: During these one-on-one sessions, a Housing Counselor will help guide you through different options to resolving your housing issue. Counselors can assist with apartment searching, applying to subsidized or public housing, communicating with landlords, and sometimes offering rental assistance.
.................................................................
Natasha told me "we don't advocate for you" even though the website says that they "communicate with landlords". She told me they were helping me by giving me applications, and "that's all we do."

image Great Organization, although tenants that UNC were responsible for caused over $10,000 plus Damage to my building. When I called for assistance. They were more worried about there personal paychecks and not my damaged building and I was hung up on several times. I rent to several charitable organizations. This one needs new employees in the housing department that are more competent and also care about the Landlords as well and need to screen who they put in there units.
