Maquarie has my money and I want it back. They are giving misinformation and imposing so many roadblocks for $1500 it is ridiculous. I have a small investment of $1500 which I am attempting to cash out. For some reason which no one (I've spoken with no less than 5 different representatives) at Macquarie can tell me, a hold/stop was placed on my account 15 years ago, and which is now prohibiting me from liquidating this money into cash (my guess is that when Maquarie purchased the Delaware fund, they flagged accounts without brokers). I have been given conflicting information about what is needed to release the hold. Initially I was told I should wait for a letter from Macquarie, and then when I followed up a third time I was advised that I actually needed to compose a letter requesting the release of my money. I prepared the letter as directed with a wet signature and mailed to Macquarie. After they received my letter they sent me a letter informing me that a Medallion Signature Guarantee would be required to begin the process of releasing my $1500. They provided a sample of the instruction to complete the Medallion Signature Guarantee. When I took this letter to my bank, they informed me that they required a Macquarie originated Medallion Signature Guarantee document to ensure all the data is present, and that they would not accept any other version. When i called back to Macquarie to explain, the representative said that they don't offer the Guarantee on their own letterhead. I don't appear to have a happy path to resolution. I'm hoping someone may have some insights into how to get my $1500 back without having to resort to a FINRA complaint. This has been going on since early January 2021!
