Dr. Ashok M. Barot, DDS

AKASH BAROT is totally dishonest dentist. Was misfortunate enough to come to so-called “Northwood Aesthetic Dental” office located at 5200 Castor Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19124. This person (AKASH BAROT, D.D.S.) inflicted injuries to me by drilling without my permission healthy parts on several teeth only to collect illegally insurance payments for injurious and not authorized by patient (me) work. He never told me that he was drilling without my permission healthy parts on several teeth and I only found it after calling my insurance company. Office was extremely dirty and unclean with visible piles of dust in corners of the treatment room. Outrageous place run by dishonest dentist.

Beware They will do unnecessary work like root canals on your teeth that you don't need. Had work done 10 years ago and nothing but problems with all the teeth in that side. Had to have one pulled.

PLEASE SAVE YOUR MOUTH AND MONEY!!! This dentist and staff is horrible, not professional at all and I honestly don't think the dentist know what he is doing. They will tell you one thing and bill you for something else. My son was there on Saturday and now he's in another dentist office 4 days later with an abscess.

I went to the original doctor here, who not only messed up my mother's teeth, but my sister's, and mine as well. Then Dr. Barots son took over and I decided to give him a chance seeing as he was one of the only offices in the area that accepted my insurance. Worst mistake of my life, I haven't been here in about 5 years and I'm still paying for my visits with pain and dental issues daily. The BIGGEST insult is that Doctor Barot believes that most of his patients "because of the area we're in, are usually using opioids." I had him fill a tooth, and was told "none of my fillings have ever failed" after mentioning issues with his father. He filled my tooth, and the filling he put in fell out literally every other day for a week straight, he'd fill it, send me home, and within that same day or the next morning while brushing/flossing it would rip right out. But none of your fillings have ever failed right? Then he PROMISED I WOULD NOT BE BILLED FOR COMING IN TO HAVE THE ONE FILLING PUT BACK INTO MY MOUTH MULTIPLE TIMES IN ONE WEEK. And I've received multiple bills. I've also been working in the healthcare field for 10+ years, and I've NEVER, EVER, IN MY LIFE seen a doctor assume 99% of his patients are drug addicts just because of the area they live in. I was asked multiple times if I was using narcotics, by Dr. Barot, and let him know I was not, I work full time in the medical field as well, and didn't appreciate him basically TELLING me that he doesn't believe that I don't use drugs because, he couldn't figure out what was wrong with my teeth. This doctor's not here to help people, this doctor's here to make easy money throwing a filling into someone's mouth. I ended up in the Emergency room with Severe Facial Cellulitis due to a dental abscess, CAUSED BY A FILLING. I'm only 25 years old and by the time I got things straightened out with my insurance, I needed to have multiple teeth extracted due to failed fillings that I got done at this office. PLEASE, GO ELSEWHERE.
