I agree with Deb below, they were amazing when they were DHG. I just called now to try to make an appointment and the phones been disconnected? They should make the patients aware if they are no longer working instead of just shut down without notice. I went last year for a cleaning and they weren't super friendly like they used to be. I just got referred to Philly Dental Spa instead which I'm looking forward to and I already like them better they are very welcoming with open arms and they actually care.

Where to begin. I guess I’ll keep it simple. There doors are literally boarded up at their most recent location. I guess that’s why I haven’t been getting an answer to my calls regarding retreiving the xrays I payed $175 for (which my insurance was also charged for and I will be contacting them very soon to put in an complaint). Anyways, last time I was in they informed me I had to get scaling done. And then just before we were about to begin they informed me that I would have to pay something like $1500 up front and that my insurance would reimburse me. Obviously, that’s the last thing in the world I would want to do so I left. And thank god I did because it would’ve been a 2 part procedure and seeing as THEIR DOORS ARE BOARDED UP NOW I gusss I can see why they were trying to get cash up front out of me. Just so dirty. Oh and speaking of dirty, when I was being examined they had a this dog literally barking in my face as they were doing the exam. It was the most insane thing I’ve ever experienced at a dr/dentist office. I’m a dog owner but HOW IS THIS APPROPRIATE ON ANY LEVEL? This thing was literally in my face barking while they were examining. It was almost comical. I hope they’re out of business. If not this world makes no sense. ✌ðŸ½

See Alanna Shaffers review below. Same experience has happened to me, my s/o, and at least one other friend who went to DMA. When they were DHG, I would have given them 5 stars in all regards. For years they were amazing from top to bottom. Since the change to DMA, the new staff and office, it's been nothing but shady practices. Out of pocket costs and insurance nightmares I should have never had to deal with. Even their once friendly staff is now replaced by staff that you can overhear talking ill of other patients while you wait. Avoid like the plague.

I went to Dental Medical Arts back when they were Dental Healthcare Group and always had a great and easy experience. Last fall, it seems they sold the practice and moved all the patients over automatically. I had one cleaning there last fall, and another in the spring. Last fall it cost me $0, this spring it cost me $355. When I called to ask what was going on, they told me it was all very simple- the previous doctor I had was in network, the new one I had was not. This was never communicated to me, and in fact I had several different doctors in the years I was with the practice, so having another new person doing my cleaning and guilting me about flossing was nothing new, and I didn't question it at the time. It was only later when the bill came in that I found out that my new doctor wasn't in network. Why wouldn't you tell your patients that their doctor is out of network? Why would I have ever gone somewhere for a $350 teeth cleaning? I now see that other people have left similar reviews of the same thing happening to them, so how dare they act as if it's all some misunderstanding. They told me they "thought they had been clear about it with everyone", but obviously I and several others who reviewed this practice in the past few months have had similar experiences. Please, if you don't want to get screwed over by shady business practices and crappy excuses, don't book an appointment with Dental Medical Arts.
