Go to Duafe Holistic Hair Care instead at 3129 n. 22nd st. They have a much better receptionist and are far more helpful with setting appointments. It was near impossible to call and set up an appointment (either going to voicemail or not getting through on the line, disconnected?) at Brownstone. After the 5th try, I gave up.

I'm going to make this as helpful and concise as possible... First time going here after reading many reviews, both good and bad. Went because my Godsister recommended them. For a first experience, it was very good. Made an appointment the night before and my stylist arrived about 5-10 minutes late, not a big deal for me. The person that answered the phone when I booked my appt was extremely helpful and chipper, so for anyone reading reviews about a nasty receptionist, I didn't encounter that. Maybe they have new staff. The salon was clean and comfortable. The stylists appear to have a good relationship with one another. The woman who colored my hair (A Baenna? Can't remember how to spell her name) was amazing. She didn't waste time and she matched my tri-colored hair to a T. The woman who maintenanced and styled my hair (Ariel?) did it with the quickness. I was pressed for time and she moved very fast and managed to give me a nice style and got me out the door by the time I told her I had to leave. Price was not too steep. I've had cheaper but I don't feel at all that I overpaid for the service I received. Will definitely try them again to see if they keep up the great work. ***updated review*** I deducted a star due to the fact that the second time I went here for my color, my stylist was very late and then colored my hair wrong. Didn't match the color in the back at all.

Went here based on Yelp reviews. I was really excited to get my hair done and colored for d first time since I had just done the big chop. Environment was clean and friendly. Abeena was professional but stubborn when you give her suggestions. She's known for coloring. when she applied color to my hair the result was a pink/red with poorly done blonde highlights; completely different from the picture i showed her which was brown with auburn hair tips. she did however make efforts to correct the mistake by dying it browner in a very annoyed state. She did try miss jessie's curly pudding free of charge in order to appease me. Spent nearly $90 to color 6-7inches natural hair w/o styling.
