good place. i haven't taken classes there, but i've enjoyed a lot of saturday night events. some feature 1 or 2 readers of their own work, others have a group of poets or prose writers, and every few months there's an open reading. free admission plus refreshments and door prizes. hosts are warm and hospitable. Update: It's closed. A big loss.

I have been taking memoir-writing classes here for two years. My teacher, who is also the founder and director of Musehouse, Kathy Bonanno, is fantastic! She brings knowledge and skill, as well as tremendous compassion and humor to our class. Under Kathy's guidance, I was able to formulate a structured outline and have completed the first draft of my manuscript. Hallelujah. The Saturday night readings are usually packed, the audience warm and supportive. I also attended a workshop on self-publishing, which was very informative. There is a huge variety of classes offered to both adults and teenagers, in poetry, fiction, playwriting, memoir. Love this place. Only wish I lived closer, as I would hang out there all the time.
