I have been in this program for 3 weeks now. I wouldn't recommend it. The staff are rude, disorganized and mostly unprofessional. Their practices involve gaslighting clients and patronizing them. This one counselor named Paris who leads group clearly has nothing but contempt for the people she is supposed to be helping. Today she humiliated me in a group of 26 people for simply asking the person from NAMI for their contact info. When I asked her why she felt it was necessary to do that she said "I'm sorry you felt that way" with a smirk on her face. I have been yelled at by my prescriber Dr. Yang, when I dared to tell her what medications I've tried that don't work for me. She tried to pressure me into taking a pill that had adverse side effects on me in the past. And when I told her 5 times within the span of 15 minutes that I am already on an antipsychotic she kept insisting that I wasn't interested in starting one. Yes, she really interpreted that as I'm not on any medication and I am refusing to start any, when I had told several of the staff members that I am on antipsychotics already. It wasn't until 20 minutes into our conversation when she finally understood that I was on pills and said she "didn't understand me at first"? I have had to repeat myself numerous times asking the same question to the receptionist giving them my email and phone number over and over again because they didn't make note of it and kept on writing down the wrong number and address and couldn't contact me. I was 10 minutes late for my first meeting on the first day because the receptionist at the front desk kept on giving me the meeting ID when I asked for the passcode numerous times. I am going to be in this program for another 2 or 3 weeks. And then I'm gone and I will not look back. And I advise you to look elsewhere for mental health treatment.

They are rude, and condescending. From the moment I walked in they rushed me and were incredibly insensitive. It took over an hour to fill out all of their paperwork and about 5 minutes afterward being seen to realize that they were not going to help me here. Its a joke. I wouldnt be surprised if someone left here worse than when they came. What a joke. I dont know what I expected but it wasnt this absolute junkyard. Im never coming back here.

If you need actual help, do NOT come here. They told me point blank that this program does not address trauma and they do not want to. The program advisor told me that I was too emotionally unstable to stay in the program but that she thought I would be just fine anyway. They want you to already be in a good place before they can help you. Its a catch 22, they will only help people who dont need it desperately. Some of their counselors are helpful and most are very unhelpful and triggering. If you just need a little unorganized help and bunch of hand outs then this is the place for you. But if you are in crisis and need help desperately (especially with emotional regulation) this is not the place for you and they dont want you in the program. Those were the words from the head of the program. The program is meant to teach people about healthy coping skills surrounding emotions but they dont want people in the program who have a hard time with it. Makes so much sense, doesnt it...as a whole this program is poorly run and a majority of the staff is judgmental and triggering. I was sent to this program by the ER staff at the hospital. They should have never sent me here. Its very obvious that no one on the staff communicates with each other especially about who this program is for. The ER staff thought the program was a good fit for me and the program adviser said this program is not for people like me and Im fact they dont want people like me there. If you have sort of anger issues they will not help you and might make you feel even more hopeless. Olivia Norton is incredibly judgmental and will make you feel horrible for even needing help in the first place. She is not a good therapist and should honestly not be allowed to work with mentally ill people.
