I recently went for a Technology class and learned a lot. I learned things I did not know about my Diabetes and the technology that will help me manage it. I was able to find parking and the staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Thank you!

I have been disappointed by my experience with the diabetes education program. I am allowed 11 visits the first year but no more. I was never told this number and was given only 6 visits. I would have come for more as I need help with allowed foods and menu planning. The education center did have support groups but lost them because they do not cater to other needs of type 2 diabetes folks. For example, most type 2 diabetes folks are older and don't drive at night. Their classes were at 7:00pm rather than a daytime hour. They also have little parking and you need to park on the street at distance. Many patients have arthritis or another disability and walking is hard. There is little handicapped parking near the building. There are parking lots further in the neighborhood with buildings that offer space to support groups, but staff will not work in the neighborhood. At last I was told finally the year was up and I had only 3 visits per year now. I do not have my diabetes under control. I feel the staff does not have quality control measures in place to help folks get set up for the diet change necessary. The center is not on top of things.
