Cup & Saucer Cafe

Fairly run of the mill breakfast place, although that probably sounds harsher than I mean it to. It's just the competition in this town is real tough and this is not one of the places that springs to mind when I feel like braving the long weekend brunch lines.

This place was ok. I think that there was nothing that really stands out when I was there. Well...the coffee was good. I had a nice conversation with the waiter. He had some good stories that I liked. The food was ok. I felt like I could make it better at home.

What a disaster. I recently came to this location of the Cup and Saucer (Mississippi) for brunch on a Sunday morning. The service was incredibly slow the entire time. From the few minutes it took for us to get seated, while having nobody in front of us and open tables in clear view, to the extended wait just to have menus brought to our table. The host spilled coffee on the table and one of my friend's shoes more than once. The food that was brought out was lukewarm, took forever, and, in my case, was incorrect - twice. We didn't see our actual waitress until after our bill had been brought out. The nice thing is that once I brought our general displeasure and the multiple issues to the attention of our waitress, she did apologize, and they heavily discounted the cost of our meal. To be honest though, the trouble of the incredibly long waits and repeated mistakes with my order did not make the discounts worth it. There are other, better options right nearby on Mississippi. It's really too bad, because I've had better experiences at other Cup and Saucer locations in the past. Avoid this one, however.
