This place has the worst management! The executive director is so irresponsible and disrespectful and does not value you as an employee. If you are not her friend or her little birdy then she treats you horrible. I have worked here in 2015 it was amazing I worked here again in 2020 I put my two weeks because of her. Please really look in to where you put your loved ones!

We have had our mom at Arbor Oaks for over a year now and I am thrilled with her care! The staff are all angles, so kind, caring and communicative. The activities are appropriate and mom loves the bus trips. Arbor Oaks has accommodated mom's food sensitivities and I love that the staff braids her hair most mornings! Thank you for all you do Arbor Oaks!!!

My husband has been at Arbor Oaks Terrace Memory Center in Newberg since mid-May 2020 after complications due to COVID-19 escalated his vascular dementia from low level to maximum. He was also admitted under hospice care. The care he has received at OAT has been more than I could ever imagine. The staff is so caring. I have not been able to visit him (plus he doesnt recognize pictures of me), but staff sends pictures and videos of him to me. I know he is receiving much better care than I ever could give him at home. Im so thankful for everyone who takes care of him.

I will say up front that the staff there are excellent, worthy of a 4-5 star.
However, calling today to visit, and was told facility on lockdown, yet residents can go out and spread it into community, or bring back, since do not wear masks there.
I understand, but to stand outside in cold to visit with unmasked resident does not make sense to me, either? To take them out in public does not make sense either, since the public deserves better than that.
The situation is overall very sad. A memory loss patient is very vulnerable, but usually will not remember the visit always, why risk the rest of your family, or others?
Covid will never disappear from the facility as long as residents are leaving the facility and going to homes possibly bringing it back from carriers.
Let's not blame staff for the outbreaks always, please.
It works two ways.
This is a very difficult situation!

I have been a team member here for the last 10 months, I have worked in a few other memory care homes in the portland metro area over the last 6 years and Arbor Oaks is by far the best place I have been employed. We have a dedicated care team who work very hard to keep the building clean and the residents well taken care of. All care staff and med techs here at AOT have the residents best interest at heart and love each one of them like they are our own family members. The staff here is great at advocating the needs for our community. The executive director is passionate about providing a clean, healthy, and safe space for residents and staff alike. I am a proud member of Arbor Oaks Terrace. The challenges that COVID-19 have presented to the world as of today are difficult, and we as a team are understanding to how hard it is, yet we adapt and overcome for the sake of our residents here and their family members. Tough times don't Last, but tough teams do!!!
