This hospital does not even deserve a 1 star. Recently took a family member to the er. First had a hard time getting to the er door, because they were putting up the new sign. Once we got checked in, they hooked up the heart monitors. Then we had to wait, wait, wait some more. Finally dr came in and wanted to run some test. Finally got an iv hooked up for fluids. Hour later they took him for ct and X-rays. Bright him back, and did not hook up the iv. Nurse kept asking for urine sample. Patient was dehydrated and in my opinion had a concussion. But I am not a Dr or nurse, hence we went to er. For 3 hours they asked for urine sample, patient was not allowed ice chips or drink because they were waiting on results. Well if they would have rehooked his iv in a timely manner maybe he would have had some liquid to produce a urine sample. After 4 hours, still no word from dr on test results, patient gave urine sample. I personally told the nurse 2 times the urine sample had been collected. At this point my sister was back with the patient. No one entered the room while she was there. I returned to find the urine sample still on the counter. A family member was with the patient the entire time, no one came to get the urine sample, nor have we heard for the dr on ct / X-ray test. 5 hours later! I blew up. Was told the urine sample had been sent offthat is a lie, because no one came into the room to collect it. This place is ridiculous. Finally dr came in to tell us he has to treat other patients and he was the only Dr there. Guess he does not know how to multi task. Dr Told us all test were fine and blood levels are normal. That is a lie as well. We know patients white blood count is elevated. Dr told us his levels were normal. I asked for the lad reports, knowing patients white count is usually elevated. Dr got in my face and told me he would not tell any results and I could not get a report with out patients written concent. Patient said give her the results and Dr was mad! Guess what. White count was elevated! Dr could not tell us what was wrong, but wanted to admit patient and have an emergency gallbladder surgery. Umm no symptoms of his gallbladder being the problem. So we checked patient out and took patient to Stillwater Er. Guess whatpatients gallbladder is fine. I would not take a dying fly to the Ponca hospital. Pretty sad we have a useless hospital in our community. The only plus was the timely manner of the radiology department. They were very helpful with the patients treatment. As well as the young lady that drew blood.
