image Nice clean room with plenty of space to relax. We were in the deaf /handicap room. Loved the shower and slept well. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Front desk staff were efficient and amazing. Gave great recommendations for local pizza places and why. Close to 75. Meijer, Walmart, Lowes within walking distance.

image I travel a lot and Fairfields are usually perfect for my needs. This was an exception as this location really has some issues.
Positives- Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, bedding & mattress were clean and comfortable, close to University of Findlay, carpet was newer in room.
Negatives- Smelled like cigarette smoke when we walked down the hall to our room, fortunately it didnt smell in our room. Cleaning was poor. Fingerprint on high touch areas like door handles, security locks, black desk. Bathroom was not clean. Hair in sink from previous guest, vanity had greasy stuff that was not wiped off and toilet had black grunge in it. Later found hair in tub too. Front desk came up to clean sink & vanity, but advised that toilet issue was rust stains and the toilet brushes couldnt get in to grooves to clean. It definitely wasnt rust colored, maybe hard water stains, butas this builds up, housekeeping or maintenance should be given the correct products and trained on how to clean/prevent future issues. It looked gross and certainly didnt inspire confidence in the overall cleanliness of the room. The caulking around the toilet base and tub and tub drain needed to be redone. The flooring in the bathroom was newer, but poorly installed and uneven. The windows are older, less soundproof than usual and condensation built up on the inside since it was cold outside. The blackout curtains had a 4 inch gap so they didnt work for blocking light from surrounding businesses.
I dont expect a lot from hotel breakfasts, but the hot food was pretty bad. The scrambled eggs were sitting in a half inch of water. There was no breakfast meat, only biscuits and gravy. Just my opinion, but sausage gravy is the most visually unappealing food ever created. Decided to go with a waffle instead. Had to go tell the guy running breakfast that the waffle batter was out. He was on his phone. We were in the breakfast area about 25 minutes. Went to get a coffee refill and BOTH coffee carafes were empty. One was already empty the first time I got coffee. Went to the kitchen area to let him know and found him on his phone again. Clearly the manager needs to take away his phone during business hours so that he actually does his job. The lady at the front desk was actually doing the breakfast guys job with coffee, trying to ensure the guests were taken care of.
The pool is also still closed, not that we planned to use it. Also noted a lot of lights out in the lobby/breakfast area.
Lastly, I was expecting the parking fee based on other reviews, but this is not an area like a downtown hotel when parking is usually charged. $6 isnt going to make or break me, but it was charged without even confirming I had a vehicle in the parking lot. I really wish hotels in general would just go back to charging a rate for one night instead of all the nickel and diming. Its out of control.
Overall, this was the worst stay Ive had at a Fairfield ever. The entire place screams of poor maintenance, half fast renovations and a location that is struggling to stay afloat. The fact that the bed was clean and the front desk ladies were kind and helpful gives this 2 stars. This place does not fit with Marriott standards otherwise.
Rooms: We always check for bedbugs. The mattress, mattress pad and bedding were very clean. The mattress was firm and comfortable. The room had some cosmetic updates, but still had some areas with wear and tear, i.e, toilet stains, bathroom floor and caulking.
Nearby activities: Situated in an area with several shopping plazas near by. Close to University of Findlay.
Food & drinks: Hot breakfast food was lacking in variety, availability and preparation. Coffee was good, but kitchen staff didnt do their job keeping things replenished or looking appetizing.
Noteworthy details: Poorly maintained Fairfield location. Needs some TLC and a good cleaning. Not right on the highway so I was hopeful for less traffic noise, but the hotel is on a pretty busy street.
