image I am a one man landscaper. I bought a $414 Heron statue, and rather than pulling one from the back inventory on a pallet, wrapped and secured, they loaded the display model (144 lbs.) in my front seat floorboard. I instructed them to do so, as I had never purchased this type/weight item before. I got down the road, mad a turn, and the statue tilted over on my leg, and the head broke off. The weight of the statue made it difficult to get off of my right leg. I took it back, and they would not replace it. They essentially put the blame on me. The owner was not there, so a younger girl came out, and then the called their yard manager, Bryan, over to deal with me. Bryan is a rather large man, so I felt they were intimidating me to accept the unfortunate occurrence as my fault. Not wanting to argue, they offered to replace it, with what I thought was cost ($250), but rather they charged me over $300 plus. My main focus was to satisfy my customer. They would not fix the statue, and instructed me to go to get a Quickcrete kit to fix it. The statue they replaced it with was laid flat on a pallet, wrapped securely in burlap and plastic, so I had to wonder, why did they not provide me with this one to begin with, rather than take my instruction, someone who had no experience and did not work there, and give me the floor model that was on display in their serenity garden, giving me no instruction on securing the heavy statue, and the potential danger of loading it upright in the front seat of my floorboard, with the potential for it to fall over on me driving, which could have been catastrophic. I wonder how they would have treated my mother and or father, or any other retail customer in this same situation. This review is coming over a year or so from the time this happened, full disclosure, and as a on man landscaper, my initial discount was only ten percent off retail. It is essentially over a $300 plus loss for me, yet they profited off both statues, a big company, and my lowly self takes the loss. I have stared at this broken statue since then, and I am now in contact with the manufacturer, Compania, and they have told me, that the statue cant be fixed, contradicting Brians assertion, and that the statue costs $250, to place on a pallet and ship to the retailer, revealing to me, that Stone Garden didnt even give me the second statue at cost. If my memory serves me correct, they charged me $313 plus tax. It pains me to write this review, but in my humble opinion, they were negligent in giving me the floor model, unprotected, and the loaded the statue in an unprofessional, unprotected, and potentially dangerous way. How would thy have treated any retail customer in this situation? By intimidation? Placing blame on said customer. I truly feel they handled this situation poorly, with indifference to the customer, and if I could give zero stars I would. I am now waiting on the VP of sales at Compania to offer me a way out of this mess, as I have moved from Wilmington to Apex, NC, but it sounds as if a retailer here, will have to be willing to accept this item on one of their deliveries, and offer it to me at cost, for $250, but the VP said he would work on this and get back with me, as they are in the business to make money, so a free replacement as of right now, seems unlikely. Again, at the time this happened, I had considered giving negative reviews and blasting Stone Garden all over social media, in the way they handled this situation, and subsequently blamed me and intimidated me to take their offer. Definitely not how I would have handled the situation and treated a customer, a landscaper at that, out there in the field, not only promoting Stone Garden, but promoting Campania, as well. I hope this review serves as a harsh reminder, and that all involved reflect on how this situation could have been better handled. I should not have been put in this situation, to have to write this scathing review.

image Stone Garden does not live up to their commitment. One of there employees agreed to select a particular size of stone for me and deliver it to my house. The next day they renegade on the deal. Please be aware that they do not live up to their commitments.

Business Response on Google Sep 28th, 2023
Aaron apologizes profusely. In an effort to please you, he said he would make an effort to scoop up the larger looking stones on one side of the 50 ton pile. Our Sales Manager caught the mistake before we loaded your stone in our dump truck when she realized Aaron had over promised and that you might be disappointed with the smaller stones that are mixed throughout the pile. She invited you to come select larger stones from the pile, which some customers do. But it is a process that would likely take all day and might still require you to select some smaller stones. When I spoke to Aaron this morning, he said, “Lesson learned”. We are terribly sorry.
