I only had an estimate performed to which I was not approved for enough financing that would cover the quote. I was told by representative Robert Knowles that he could add my husband for additional financing within 48 hours after. For some reason Empire would not allow him to do it the same day for consumer credit protection. I have called him, I have called Empire, I have texted, I have emailed and no one has followed up. Finally 7 days after our quote I emailed and texted once again to tell them to forget everything, they obviously don't want our business. We contacted another flooring company that has given us a better quote and hopefully will prove to be more customer focused. Since I have sent an email to Empire I still have not received any correspondence for my cancellation. This was a disappointing experience.
09/01/2021 - Empire today has scheduled 3 Inspection appointments with us and each one of those were NO SHOWS! When we finally got the inspection done they sent the same installers that did the installation which is definite conflict of interest! We have buckling of our floors from when the installers put in the boards from them being banged to closely together. We now have small patches of water damage that was caused on our end. I was assured by Shay that the inspectors would take pictures of the damage and a decision would be made based off Empire's analysis and NOT the installers inspection. My husband called yesterday and was told by Jessica that THE ENTIRE FLOOR HAD TO BE REPLACED!!! How and why, when there is minor water damage and only a few areas that were damaged due to the installers. I have been calling all day today and sending messges and no one has returned our phone calls. I am really disappointed in the quality of the laminate floors, as these boards curled up like water on paper! We spent too much money for this to occur and for our concerns not to be addressed timely. I have laminate flooring in my living and dining room areas and have never experienced any damage like this for a small amount of water and the floors never buckled when WE installed them. Empire is delivering poor customer service, poor material and poor warranty follow up. I AM NOT HAPPY!!! This is ridiculous NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE OR EMAILS!! Service: Floor fitting

I wish I would have read these google reviews before purchasing. The rep who came out seemed fine and said that all of their installers have top ratings and that they get fired if they don't get top reviews. That intially made me feel good about their product. During the quoting process, I said that I wanted the same padding as our existing carpet and he advised the medium grade. Mind you, I know nothing about carpet so I am entirely reliant on the rep to guide me correctly. Well, the job just finished and it is nowhere near the same feel as the previous carpet.
This morning, the installer guy showed up and was indicating that the job would be a problem because it was raining. We cleared out space for them in the garage and the house is rather large, so plenty of space to store the carpet. We went back and forth for a few minutes and he was looking at me like I should come up with a solution?! He then gave me a form to sign and one of the questions was 'did the installer provide credentials'. So I turned around and asked for his credentials and he declined to give them to me. He also wasn't wearing a mask and the rep who had come out during quoting advised that it was company policy to wear a mask while indoors. Mind you, I am vaccinated, but I have two children 6 and under who aren't. He started the job by himself and later in the day, some other guys came to help him out. During the walk through, I noticed all kinds of lumps and uneven spaces that was previously unnoticeable with the old carpet. When I asked him about it, he said it was a subfloor issue and that the sections weren't level. If that were me working on the floor, I would have approached the owner about it and pointed that out BEFORE proceeding with the job and given them a chance to evaluate the issue. Also, when walking up the stairs, I discovered a big blood stain on my newly painted wall. The installer proceeded to wipe off the stain with his TSHIRT....
All in all, I went from an older carpet that was more comfortable, to a newer carpet that is lumpy and feels worse. The install was awkward and I really dislike the lack of communication throughout. I'm not sure what recourse I have as I have paid in full, but I'm just so disappointed. This was a job that I was so excited about having done for our house and I just feel like it is worse now... I hope the company does a better job moving forward a) to ensure better advice on getting like for like carpet and b) better installation experiences for the guest. I dunno about you, but as a female with two small kids in the home, if a man declines to identify himself even though the form states that he is supposed to, I'm going to feel REALLY uncomfortable about that. I hope this company does better moving forward. Service: Floor fitting

I originally left a 1 star review because I was quoted a price of about $8K to do my entire downstairs flooring. Well when the paperwork was brought to me the price was over $9K but I was informed that the price would be adjusted when they got back to the office. Me being trusting, I signed it and the price was still over $9K. After leaving the review I was contacted and told that it was fixed. It took a little over 3 weeks but the price was adjusted to the exact number they said it would be. I was satisfied that they corrected this mistake but I still believe it should've never happened. Thank you to the lady that called me and got it all resolved. I appreciate your dedication to customer service.
But for the work itself... Empire sent "Los 2 Reyes" a contractor out of Raleigh, to come do the job. In my opinion, Empire should not send anyone else to your house! If you use empire request them to send Mr. Jose and his team from Los 2 Reyes. They did my entire downstairs in about 10 hours and the work was perfectly completed. They even cleaned the areas after they were done. Mr. Jose and his team were extremely respectful and I will be personally contacting him for any other projects I might need. Service: Floor fitting

We paid a deposit and scheduled an appointment, which was canceled by their installer on the day of and the office rescheduled it for a month out. We had to call headquarters to cancel and get our deposit back because the local CSS said it was past their 3 day cancelation policy.
