    My nephew and his friend moved into Central Pointe Apartments and signed a 3 month lease agreement, as they recently enrolled in a nearby school. They informed the leasing office they would only need to lease the apartment for 3 months, the expected time until graduation, and the Leasing Manager agreed to their terms on the basis of paying the total 3 months' lease in full - in advance. They've fulfilled their education requirements a few weeks prior to their lease ending and naturally went to complete the "Move-Out Form" required and to their surprise, the Leasing Manager, Patricia, stated they were required to give a 60 days advance notice of leaving. Their 60 days advance notice was given over 60 days ago when they completed their application and were approved for this specific reason, completing their last semester of education. They tried to reason and explain their views with Patricia, but needless to say, she was not cooperative and showed little compassion for 2 inexperienced students in "reading the fine print". They paid their 3 months lease in advance, as requested and required, as they only relacated to Charlotte for educational purposes. They also made the rental office aware of their intent to only rent the apartment for 3 months. Now the Leasing Manager expects 2 "soon-to-be" graduates to pay 2 months of additional rent when Management were full aware of the agreement in advance (3 months lease). If this isn't ENTRAPMENT, then I don't know what is. This previous arrangement should have noted in the "Special Provisions" section of the Lease Agreement, but unfortumately it was intentionally not included in the agreement. I encourage parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and individuals to PLEASE review your contracts in-depth prior to any signatures, as I wouldn't want this same scenario to happen to any future leader(s) attempting to simply...BECOME!
