It's a nice hotel with great service staff. Breakfast was a hot buffet with server staff. The buffet was similar to what one gets now at slightly cheaper chains where you serve yourself and are on your own, so you're really paying for the service here. Price felt high to me, but the amenities here are a notch above, as is the front desk service. Closer to RPI than what you'd call the entertainment district downtown (wouldn't walk there from here). It's what was available for the night I spent there.
If you're going to be there for more than just a room, then this is a place for consideration. Otherwise, I'd compare prices to other local hotels and choose accordingly.

Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean. Easy to get too. Nearby fast food along entire strip. Hotel Bar is the Best will stay again.

To begin, I must state that ARI made my entire stay at this hotel EXCELLENT. She invested unnecessary effort in resolving any problems I may have had. Her customer service abilities are exceptional; without a doubt, she deserves a promotion to a managerial position. The hotel is relatively outdated and old-fashioned in comparison to other hotels in Albany. The housekeeping at this hotel is dreadful. When I returned to my room on multiple occasions, there was no trash removal, no fresh linens, and no vacuuming of the carpet; it was quite revolting. Wednesday March 13th was the only occasion my room was cleansed PROPERLY, and she did an excellent job. At this hotel, the majority of housekeepers are lazy, but the black woman who cleaned my room did an excellent job; I felt no fear about walking barefoot on the floor. Without Ari, I would have without a doubt requested that my employer relocate my hotel.
