Without a doubt, these people are the most unprofessional and rude individuals I have ever met.
The apartments are relatively cheap for NY, but nothing in NY is cheap without a reason.
First of all, all the common areas are run-down and the corridors smell disgusting. The carpets in the corridors look like they have never been replaced and the decor feels like something from a cheap 60's horror movie.
However, the main problem is the staff at GP Associates. They are rude beyond a joke, downright nasty and unhelpful and go out of their way to intimidate people when you call up about any problem. The super (who has recently changed) is so scared to not upset his employers that he will choose to treat you like a criminal at every occasion rather than realize that the tenants actually pay to live there and should at least have some basic level of customer service. When I moved out, he took pictures of the whole apartment and treated me like a criminal and said he had to take pictures so his manager would be able to reduce the amount on the deposit we got back.
We were also threatened by the landlord and had to get lawyers involved and, as soon as the lawyer was involved, they promptly decided to drop the litigation. They are bullies and have absolutely no respect for their tenants.
