Will definitely not recommend since we were disappointed after our 3 day stay at the hotel. We visited New York for a short holiday and thought this stay would be relaxing but maybe we expected too much. The hotel interiors are quite run down, carpets etc in common areas are stained and looked like they needed a change. Staff didnt seem to care too much either (I mentioned a coffee spill near the elevator which was completely ignored). The porter and room cleaning staff were maybe the only ones around who smiled and made us feel welcome. Hotel also seems to charge 20% destination fees on top of the room rates which caught us by surprise. Didnt even receive a bill at the end of our stay. In addition, we arrived quite late (checked in only around 10 pm) and were surprised to find the reception area was being renovated. No mention before checkin or on their website about this, not even from the staff on the day who seem to ignore this conveniently. The works continued for atleast 2 more days of our stay.
