This is in regards to the E75th street location in Manhattan UES. Never have I experienced such disrespect and horrible customer service experience as I did with Alexandra, the rental leasing manager working at the building. While the building is nice, it is not worth the disrespect and horrible client experience most people have to put up with upon moving in. I have multiple friends in the building who also expressed to me the same discomfort I experienced working with Alexandra. That being said, Stephen another manager (her boss) is a delight. As someone who has family in RE industry and my family is close friends with the glenwood properties owner, we do plan to tell the owner of the building our experience with Alexandra. Also, I would suggest hiring white-collar people who are educated on how to communicate to clients and put together leases. Be careful with her...work directly with Stephen.

We lived in Fairmont for almost two years, and we really had the best experience as renter. the only reason we left is because we bought our own, if one day for some reason we decide to rent again, we will definitely go back to Fairmont (or other glenwood mgmt properties). 1. Price. yes, rent is expensive, but we did our home work. they are not more expensive than other similar condition places. they are actually reasonably priced in NYC market. When it is time to resign the lease, we called the mgmt office and try to negotiate, they actually keep our previous price. very pleasant surprise. 2. building staff. yes of course very few of them on some days will be on their phones instead of opening doors or helping with your package. but 99% of time, we are more than happy with the friendly staff. package room never had problem, sometimes they help bring heavy stuff, they remember every tenant and if they have package/laundry. really really happy with them. 3. moving out experience. Come on, who move out with perfect clean place and smooth wall. we didn't. we have a 5yr boy and by end of moving it is really tiring. so there are big holes (from TV wall rack) and small holes (all the hanger stuff) and stickers (from kid) on the wall. we did try our best to clean things up, but it definitely looks very different from when we move in. I was ready to lose half my deposit at least. but, after we moved out 2 weeks, a check showed up with full deposit. I CAN'T even believe that. 4. things can be better: kid room have hour restriction, which makes it hard for us to leverage. I do understand the reason behind it. Gym too. for someone like me want to workout really early or really late, it sometimes is hard. but we work around it with no problem. Window are REALLY hard to open. we like fresh air, but my wife can absolutely open or close the window, and it take me almost full strength to do that. we did work around it as well. Again, if we ever need to rent again, we will come back here for sure.

I am a tenant of Glenwood Management Corporation. For the steep price I pay in rent, I would expect to get good service, or at least for management to care -- even just a little -- about their tenants, but NO. 1. Rents are expensive, and you can expect them to get hiked up each year with little to no negotiating power. The prices should be based on the market value, not just hiked up the max percentage allowed by law each year automatically. 2. The package room is constantly (I mean, every couple of weeks) losing my packages with no explanation. The package room guys are seriously unmotivated and lazy (with zero customer service skills), and don't log packages in, or hide expensive ones in the hopes that tenants won't notice them missing and they can then steal them a few days later. Not to mention that when I call to have packages brought up to my apartment, 80% of the time they forget (they don't write it down anywhere) and I have to keep calling, and the rest of the time it takes them hours. 3. Complain to management and you'll end up following up six times, with them saying they'll get back to me and never doing that, before finally giving up. There's ZERO accountability. I honestly don't even think they write things down, let alone keep track of the issues tenants call about. My old building (but Glenwood is too cheap or lazy to add a system like this) had a ticket system like websites do, where an issue is logged and assigned to someone, so the tenant can see when it's completed and comment. Without this, there's no reason for management or the repairs/handyman staff to follow up, or even keep track of issues. No accountability. 4. If you have an issue with a neighbor, even if they're breaking the law, they tell you to call the cops or, basically, shut up. They will not help you, and there's nobody to complain to about the service you get, because the owners of Glenwood care so little about their tenants that they made sure it's impossible to find out who they are (go ahead - dig around on the web -- they are invisible), let alone how to contact them. Therefore, no accountability. Therefore, no improvement in service. 5. The workers in the building simply don't show up when you have an appointment, so you have to call on average three to six times, sometimes more, to get something fixed. 6. The hallways are not kept up. The Glenwood workers scrape, mark up and rip the wallpaper in the hallway while transporting their handyman carts, and of course that never gets repaired, so the hallways end up looking beat up. 7. The Glenwood sales rep that rents out the apartments lied to me. He said that the apartment was cable-ready and showed me these things on the wall that looked like they were for cable. I had Time Warner AND Verizon Fios come over, and they both said that those were from the 1960's or thereabouts and have no use. In order to have cable you have to staple the cords along your ceiling. I asked my neighbors about this, and they said the same thing. He also told me that heat and AC is paid for by Glenwood -- that's a half-truth because they're electricity-powered and the tenant pays for electricity. My electrical bills, for a one-bedroom, are about $350/month. 8. And this one is least important, but the heater/AC units are totally useless. They are basically either on or off, and you're either super hot or super cold. You can't adjust them properly like ones in newer buildings. Just like the pipes (which are regularly leaking and causing mold issues, or breaking and flooding apartments), the heating/AC units are from the 1960's and they don't seem to see a need to replace them. Oh yeah, and I see that they're going to tell me to email that tenant services email. I tried that already. Guess what? Not one helpful response to any of my issues. They really need to shape up and start acting like they care about their tenants, and figure out a system where there's some accountability, or they're going to get an even worse rep and lose tenants.
