I've done my taxes with Maurice, aka Mr. Taxman for the 7th year in a row and for the first time, by phone.  I've always been satisfied and relieved with the results.  As a business of 1 and freelancer, I have multiple tax statements and expenses.  Maurice sorts through it all and has given me frank advice on my options.  I can't help but think these other reviews are from people who don't want to take responsibility for the choices they've made on their returns.

I am dealing with "Mr. Taxman" now...I had him do an amended return, now the state says I owe them hundreds of dollars.  He had the nerve to say he didn't know where he came up with the original number of my refund.  Oh, so you entered a random number and now I have to pay?  Cool.Huh?  Are you kidding me?  He's now cost me hundreds of dollars for no reason.I'll continue doing my taxes on my own from here on out.

I am not normally one to write reviews but because of our experience with Maurice Trauring-  aka "Mr Taxman" I feel that we must.  Maurice is a very nice man. He did our taxes for years. He "seems" to know what he's talking about.  HE DOES NOT and we learned this the hard way. Last year we were audited and found out that we owed the IRS over $20,000 from a couple years of taxes Maurice did.  He didnt help us with the audit at all- basically saying "good luck."  Since then we have spent the last year and thousands more cleaning up the mess that he made.  The IRS employees and other accountants we have since worked with have all said he clearly didn't know what he was doing and we are in this situation because of him.  We are not experts on taxes which is why we got to someone to do ours. Clearly we chose the wrong person. I just hope this review saves some one the hassle and costs we have had. It should also be noted that Maurice is NOT A C.P.A.
