Do not waste your time. The broker I worked with, Laron Duncan, took my money and tried to keep it. I had to ask for my money back several times and threaten to sue to finally get it back. The office looks unprofessional for a reason. They're likely all scammers. I wouldn't be surprised if the positive reviews are from people who used to work there and are currently working there. A good tip for first time movers, never give any money to anyone until you are at a lease signing and always give it in the form of a money order. The only time you should give in money before signing a lease, is to get the apartment off the market or application fees. Remember that any amount of money you give up to take the apartment off the market should not be without a receipt. Make sure you get one because if you don't get the apartment, that money is supposed to be refunded to you. Application fees don't always go either way. Some are refundable and others are non-refundable. I am just about to move in my 2 bedroom apartment after working with brokers at Bruma Realty. Their office is nice and clean, and the brokers definitely know what their doing. Their office is in the Bronx on Davidson Ave.

WHERE DO I BEGIN? My "real estate agent" or "broker" named Randy found me an ILLEGAL APARTMENT. First of all, he KNEW this was my first apartment, how long and hard I saved, that I would be paying all bills alone, etc. He got to know me and my mother for quite some time prior as he showed us a few apartments. About a year and a few months later an agent from HPD shows up and warrants the apartment to be illegal with his supervisor and chief's second opinion. Sure enough about three weeks later I AND ANOTHER TENANT in the back of the house are served with a vacate order, with less than 24 hours notice. Currently I am LAYING ON A HARD DIRTY FLOOR because I almost passed out from packing and moving stuff tonight, so I must finish in the morning when I regain my energy. I CONTACTED RANDY VIA PHONE, TEXT, AND AT HIS OFFICE notifying him that as a lisenced real estate agent who I paid a huge fee to, he should have known this was illegal, but instead tricked a naive young girl so that he can move on with a sale. He assured me he'd call me in two days and find me an apartment to make up for this mistake he put me in. HE THEN BLOCKED MY NUMBER - how professional. I am currently homeless, laying on a floor, which I would attach a picture if I could. Do not risk going to this broker. He looks out for himself only, not the safety, health, comfort, or even respect of his clients. BEWARE.
