image My bad experience with this office happened 2 years ago, however I didnt feel compelled to share it publicly until now. At every check up for my newborn son from 6 weeks through 4 months, I brought up my concern about his inability to turn his head to the left and the shape of his head because of it. I was brushed off by Dr. Charles every time, and my concerns were ignored. At 4.5 months, I decided I was not going to be ignored anymore, and as his mother I knew something was wrong. I did my own research. I made an appt. With another doctor in the practice and said please check him for torticollis and check his head shape. It was confirmed he did have torticollis and I was told to look for a physical therapist and get him evaluated for a helmet. Only at this point my insurance wouldnt cover any of it because I would have had to start PT way earlier. He was diagnosed with moderate to severe flat head by the time we were finally able to get in with Cranial Technology from waiting so long. We were also told by PT that we would most likely have to go until he turned 1 due to starting late. I reached out to talk to Dr. Charles directly about this but never received a call. Then another doctor in the practice misdiagnosed him with having ringworm and had me treat it with anti fungal cream for 2 full weeks where he would cry every time I would apply it because of the burn, only to return and find out it was eczema. I was a first time mom and already dealing with post partum anxiety and all of this only added more stress and worry, so I left the practice. Fast forward to 2 years later when my current pediatrician closes down, so I decide to go back to Dr. Charles office with my now 2 year old son and 4 month old daughter. I went back for 2 visits, one check up and one sick visit for each of them. I was upfront with both doctors I saw about the bad experience and the return. It was a friendly and cordial interaction. I get a call yesterday from the office manager saying, you cant come back here, thats our office policy, its not a good relationship. First of all, if thats the office policy, why did no one tell me??? Why did you let me bring all of my son and daughters medical records and come to 2 appts? The office manager claimed the front desk ladies dont know the policy, and neither do the doctors, but then within the same sentence, claimed the doctor herself came up with the policy when she opened the practice. Plus the office manager herself came out in the waiting room my first visit to confirm my son used to be a patient there and left. It was like she was fabricating this policy while she was on the phone with me. And isnt their mission and responsibility to take care of kids? Why are they concerned with relationships? This practice is a mess and unprofessional. Thought this was worth sharing with the public so no one has to go through a similar situation.

Both Dr Lydia Charles and Dr Alexandra Charles are amazing. They spend so much time with us and answer every question and never make us feel like an inconvenience.

-1,000,000 thumbs down is my rating!!!
We were NEVER told that the doctor is a tier 2 and that they charge astronomical fees!! We were told they excepted our insurance and that was it!!
The billing staff is rude and nasty and very condescending!!!! Do your self and you childs self a favor and choose another pediatrician!!!!!
